If you could ask the designers / store for one thing what would it be?

I would love it if they added the fonts they used in their word art as part of their credits and terms of use. I love using word art, enhancing and expanding it. It would cut so much time in my scrapping if I did not try so hard to match the fonts...

I would also like more oval frames... there are lots of round, square and rectangle, but not so many oval ones.

That is two things.....

From the store, I would like it to tell me if I already bought something...

And to be able to download a whole kit in one zip file as an option.

I am not complaining - just wishing :)
 
I like that idea about including fonts! I spend so much time trying to find the font to add to my page. I often just give up so having it included would be oh so cool!

And yes, the option to download in one zip would be nice too.

I don't really have any wants or desires. I scrap with what is offered and go from there. Simple girl, mostly. :)
 
Yes, I'd love it if they told us what fonts they used; that would be amazing! I'd also like them to read my mind so they know what I need them to design, LOL! But overall I am pretty satisfied with the store and forum. :)

That's for sure! I think GS is a wonderful site. I am hoping the designers see this and start including fonts. I know Kristmess does on some of her kits, when she remembers.
 
Ooooh I like the font idea! And definitely the "tell me if I've already bought this" in the store. I know one store that does that, and it's super helpful.

I would love it if designers used a naming structure for their files. I know a lot do, but it would be really helpful to have "kitname elements" as the name of the folder, as opposed to just "elements". It would save a little time organizing downloads to not have to open every folder to see what's inside. But that's really a small quibble.

I think the thing with one download per product has to do with different internet speeds. If your internet is super slow it's a lot easier to DL a few smaller files than one big file.
 
Trina and I (Dear Friends Designs) always include the fonts we used on our templates with each and every template! :)
 
I love the idea of including fonts, too! There were times when I really NEEDED that font so I asked the designer.
 
I agree with more types of frames and having everything in one big zip file for download.

A 2 thumbs up on Dear Friends Designs as YES they include the font!!

I would LOVE for them NOT to include multiple elements with the same 'text' to save them. Because a color changes in an alpha or a leaf changes from a different folder, please do not name the same!
[I am very capable at saving and adjusting, but many are not]

Use a tiff saving format with:
LZW, Interleaved, IBM [ or mac]; and zip..makes for a smaller file save.

Noting what was already bought would be great.

Id love if naming wordart would include what word it was. Rather than wordart1 wordart2 wordart3 have instead wordartmiami, wordartdaytona, wordartsunshine.... does that make sense?


And why do some designers release things without a identifier of who designed it being included with the zip folder. I've had to discard stuff because I don't know who designed it. Or I have to go hunting to find out where I grabbed it or bought it. Advertising yourself should always be in a designers best interest.
 
It's interesting that there are just as many file naming requests as actual supply requests.

I thought of one more, which I know most designers do, but I just opened a kit yesterday that had flowers but no leaves. We need leaves, LOL!
 
Personally, what I would like to see is increased search ability. I know on other sites when you go to a particular designer's page you have the option of what you want to search for within that designer, like just kits, or just alphabets, or just papers etc. I personally prefer to buy full kits, so it would be nice if I didn't have to wade through pages of elements and things I don't want to see.

If you click on advanced search just below the search box you are taken to a new page that lets you really narrow down your search to designer and also any category that the store has listed. Searching only a single designer and the category "kits" was how I eventually completed the iNSD Gingerbread scavenger hunt. Also comes in really handy when I only want to see templates by a specific designer.

I just came across one while downloading and organizing an alpha from a kit. The .png files of the lower case and the upper case letters have exactly the same names which means that I cannot merge the two folders into one folder. So I would ask the designers to please not name two different things with the same name.
 
I think our designers are almost too good at designing what I want because I don't seem to have to work too hard to spend moneyhehe

I do like the idea of a consistent naming convention and not naming things the same. I use a renaming utility and can rename an entire kit contents at once. if names aren't repeated or the naming convention isn't altered .

I LOVE preview thumbnails :) I wish more designers would do individual thumbnails: kit, elements , paper , etc.
 
I would like to know which product/s have been removed from my wish list so that I can bemoan my loss. I have so many products in it that I never know which goodie I missed out on when something is removed because it is no longer available. Im a stickybeak and need to know everything :0

As far as the shop telling you when you have already purchased an item... unfortunately at this time I can't make that happen :(
There used to be a company that made a mod for xcart (our shopping cart) that would warn customers if they were buying something that had already been purchased. However that company went out of business and no one has come out with that same mod again. Such bummer! Just remember that if you do accidentally purchase something twice from our shop, as long as you can give me the 2 order numbers - I can give you a credit or even possibly a refund for the duplicate purchase :)

You are wonderfully generous when it comes to store issues - I appreciate that so much! The store is fabulous - I have no complaints, just idle wishes!
 
Now that I have been working with the search function more, I would like to renew my request to having links at the top of each designer's page. Things like "kits" "papers" etc. It would make it so much easier to navigate each designer's creations and not have to scroll through dozens of pages filled with things you're not looking for. I find that when I have to scroll through a ton of pages then I'm less inclined to use that artist because it is tedious trying to find what I want.

I have considered this but it would be a big mess on the back end. The designers would have to scroll for days to find the correct categories to add their products in. It is already a REALLY big list, if I added subcategories for every designer it would just end up being a nightmare. However if anyone ever makes a mod to add this kind of set up without the mess on the backend, I would TOTALLY buy and install that! Fingers crossed someone makes that :)

Thanks for the feedback! I understand what a nightmare the backend can be sometimes, so I will just keep hoping someday someone makes that feature an easy add on! :)

Sarah, you can use the advanced search function to narrow down what you are looking for. That helps. Not to the degree you would like, but it does help.
 
Would love the feature that tells you if you have already bought an item. Although I usually check what I do & don't have, there is always the odd kit I have doubled up on
 
For template designers, I would like to have separate zips for PSDs, TIFFs, JPEGs, PNGs, etc. That way, I would only have to download the format that I want (TIFF in my case).

Making sure no two elements are named the same - I like to combine all my elements into one folder for a given kit, so if the main kit has flower1 and an add-on also has flower1, I need to rename one of them. It would be easier to just copy them all into one folder without having to rename!
