I need......

....an INTERVENTION!!! I am totally unable to stop piling things onto my pages! I think oh it needs a little something there and then it needs a little something over there to balance and on and on...in fact I just hate leaving gorgeous goodies unused in a kit, I feel Ive let the kit, the designer and myself down by not being able to use everything. I'll be thinking that the LO is done and then I do one last check through the kit and of course, I find something delicious that totally has to go on the page just for the joy of using it!!! There are so many delights in the GS designer kits, it is a sin to not use them all!!! One day I will challenge myself to actually create a LO using every single thing in a kit pack. I am in awe of minimalist LOs and white space design but find myself SO unable to accomplish it. I start out intending for the page to be minimalistic and before I know it...stack on stack on stack. My name is Jill and I am a STACKER!!! Anyone else out there enjoying the same affliction???:D

I love white space, but not minimalist. It's definitely not my style. I was always a pile on-er. Even when I was a paper scrapbooker. I've always enjoyed more of the artistic side of scrapbooking and how elements enhance the stories on my pages or that become the story themselves. It's such a soothing hobby. Kits are so inexpensive especially compared with how much enjoyment I get from using them. And, as a bonus, they're calorie free. lol

Could I butt in for a moment?... I wold just like to say that there is no reason at all for an intervention, scrapbooking is just like any other craft/hobby every one has their own style that is what makes every one so unique, Just do what you feel is right and as long as you feel there is the right amount of sugar in your layout in the end, That is all that matters is that YOU are happy with your creation.

Mary Lou, Ive decided to embrace the need to stack and call it an asset:D I really DO like fiddling with my LOs:)

I'm with Mary Lou, we all have our own unique style. You should see some of the horrified looks i get in fabric stores, and when they ask if i wouldn't like something more neutral because it goes with everything! Aack!!

Oh, Jill! I'm sure you've noticed how uncluttered my layouts have been lately, right? It's a bit daunting to just scrap with papers and maybe a few embellishments, but I really do like my layouts better this way. You see my photos first and don't have to search for them to find them.

Just remember, there is no right or wrong way to scrap, as long as you scrap.

I totally agree with Donna. My pages are a combination of many different styles depending on how I want the photo to shine on that page.

When I paper scrapped I was never a stacker. I was minimalist to say the least. I would only add a few embellishments because of the cost and then double matt or triple matt my pictures.

Now that I do digital and can recolor, resize and reuse, I find I am using more stuff on my pages. A lot more.

I have gotten to this point myself! I have to remind myself I can make another page if I want so I dont have to use all the stuff at once!
