I got a Wacom pad for Christmas this past year and I just don't really know how to use it to it's best job: brush work!! I am abysmal at it.

Does anyone know of a great tutorial to teach me how to make paint splatters, splashes, and swooshes of my own?

OMG...we must be sisters. I just replied to your other post about goals and then I see this! Hahaha
I have a wacom too...and a severely neglected one at that. I need guidance as to what to do with it as well!

Susan and Cindy,
Have you both found instructions for setting up your Wacoms because that is important before you do anything else.

Mine is fairly old and I do not use it all that often but do use a couple of shortcuts I have set up on it. My digi software is Photoshop CS6. so the set up depends on your software.

Once you have it all set up you just use the pen ( stylus ) like you would a mouse.

So, Susan to create paint splashes etc you just follow instructions for doing that for your software. There is nothing extra special for that procedure with a wacom than if you used a mouse.

I could share links to tutorials but it all depends on your software so just do some google searching.
Sometimes I think Mr Google is my best friend as I am always asking for his help. :)

My Wacom is set up for design. My husband is a Graphic Designer so he knew how to set it up for what I'd need. I use Photoshop CC 2019. I'd ask him, but he is a clean and graphic style and he thinks scrapbooking is "fussy".

Susan, so you have it all set up. Is it set up for shortcuts for your program. I have one click shortcuts for "clip to below" "move up" and "move down" Also the radial is set for zooming in and out. Does your wacom have short cut buttons to use? If you have not set those up - you just go on your computer - "all programs" - Wacom - "Wacom Tablet Properties" and that is where you add your different shortcuts.

Then once you have all that as you want it... you just use the pen/stylus to do whatever you want in your program as I said you just us the pen as you would the mouse.
This Youtube may help you ( I did not watch it all the way through)

I have been debating about getting one for years now ... I am left handed so don't know if that would be a deterrant or not ... Anne-Marie, thank you for the link! I'm going to watch it later this eve!
