How often do you.....?

....recolour sections of your photos to match the kit you want to use? Or alternatively, have you ever dressed your kids in certain colours so that you can get a photograph to match the kit you are targeting? If you recolour, what is the technique you use? OK that's 3 questions:)...oops.

I have recoloured on occasion but not often, I am more likely to desat the colour rather than change it. I am not too proficient at recolouring but if I do decide to recolour, I simply magic wand the targeted area, sample the colour I want from the kit and use the colourize function, then play with hue/sat etc until I am happy. I would be interested in learning other ways. What is YOUR story?

I usually just turn my photo Black and White or Sepia if the photo or clothing in the photo doesn't match my kit. It's just easier for me to do that than to mess with individual color changing. Also my kids would NEVER wear what I wanted them to wear unless it was a special family photo shoot.

I have recolored like that maybe once or twice, but not recently. And yes, I'm guilty of dressing my kids to match kits, especially my youngest! I think when I recolored I did it like you do. I can't think of any other technique, but I'd be interested in reading some more ways. :D

I once used a picture of my mother twice and she was wearing a different colour top in each because I had recoloured :) Usually, though, I might change the colours a little to match the kit more. So if a shirt was pink, but not quite the right pink, I might give it a bit of help. Mars was the best at that :)

I'm not really into dressing up my kid to match the kit I will use, it's actually the reverse. But it makes me smile when I see that the kit (or photo) I will use matches each other. But I recolor. Most of the time I use radlab because I always brighten my photos and/or turn them black and white(I love black and white). But when I have the patience (or if I remember) I use color selection only.

I certainly recolor often and there are many ways to recolor...many many! But with so many digi-supplies, I'm more likely to just search for something that coordinates from my stash.

Have you ever tried taking a photo of the print of their clothes and used that as your backround?

I have so many photos to scrap that it's more likely I will just pick a different photo/different kit so things work together better.
