How do YOU scrap?

I always get stuck, when I finally have time to scrap, I don't know where to start.

I am an organized person, so I want to scrap in chronological order. But then I look through all my photos and I'm inspired by random pictures throughout the month, I just don't know what to do.

And then there are times when a new kit comes out, and I just want to find photos to match the kit, because it is so lovely.

How do you scrap??
Do you have a set process, or do you just let your creativity take over and scrap whatever you want- whenever you want?

I let my creative muse take over. Sometimes I'll take pictures just for a kit, other times, I'll fiddle until a set of pictures fit.
Only time I do anything chronologically is when I'm doing my Project: Life layouts. Otherwise, nope, never in an order.

I definitely do not scrap in order...if that was the case I'd never get anything done! I usually always start with a kit...then on a hunt to find photos to go with it...then let the creative process take over.

I'm pretty much like my siggie says....one LO at a time.
I am working on current photos as well as those taken a few....[uh-hemmmm] years ago. When the album is ready or the pages are ready, I print.
I rely A LOT on challenges for inspiration. I LOVE viewing the gallery and then more inspiration hits me. then there are also the 'new' releases and I just drool......

Templates have helped me to get a move on much faster!!

I just go with the flow...random although I have been trying to scrap this year but trips take over and I take too many photos. Almost 2000 in June and another 2000 in July..thats a lot of photos to scrap. We are heading to Disney in November...I will never catch up. :)

I have a folder though of my photos that is a duplicate of my photos folder it is labeled photos to be scrapped so as I scrap them I delete them from that folder so I don't end up scrapping the same picture more than once.

Oh gee...I scrap a THOUSAND different ways. I've been trying to stay up to date on my yearly albums. I'm about halfway through this year's album and hope to finish it shortly after the year ends to stay on top of things.

Then I scrap sometimes based on a 'plan' or idea I have for an album. I love free albums from Shutterfly and when I get them I start thinking about what I want to make and dive in and scrap specifically for that album...sometimes they are chronological sometimes not...like right now I'm working on the 'First 4 Months' baby album....

Then there are those times I just want to scrap a photo to match a certain kit so I go digging for the right photo for that kit. I just keep all those pages until I decide to print or put in an album....

I just LOVE seeing the pages that come out of the photos. I was so excited that I went and bought TONS of 8x8 photo frames at Joannes this year and they now hang ALL over my house and I just keep printing pages I like and displaying them. I swear there are almost no other size frames in my house now!! LOL

I used to scrap in order. Then I had a EHD crash, so I stared scrapping what was currently on my memory card while I worked to get my photos back on a EHD. Then I sort of never went back to scrapping in order because my photos were a mess on my EHD. I am working right now on getting older photos organized on my EHD again. Then I plan on scrapping in order! ;) I really like scrapping in order. ha

I also do pocket scrapping, so that is always done in order. It's so fun getting this family yearbook every year! :D

It just about kills me to scrap OUT OF ORDER!! (extreme OCD issues at time or as my husband teases me CDO because things have to be in (alphabetical) order! ha ha)

But there are times I do jump out of order to meet CT needs - like now all the fun fall and Halloween kits are rolling out - but I'm not quite done with June 2013 - so I've had to skip ahead a few months so my pics can match the kits! I grumble about it at the time, but when I get to that month and realize its mostly done I get excited! LOL

So I have from 2005 (when my first was born) done through May of 2013. I used to be over 2 years behind, but I'm slowly gaining, it'd be so awesome to be in the same year at least! ;)

But I too take 1000s of pics each month, but over the past few months (or years has it been?) I've really been trying to cut back, maybe that's why I'm catching up? Either that or I'm getting to be smarter in my scrapping, and I try to reuse as many LOs as possible amongst my 4 kids!

That and I do a p365 album, I think this is my 5th year? (Colleen will correct me if I'm wrong on that! HA HA) I love doing that, and then when I get to that month of scrapping I have all the journaling so I remember all the details to add to my pages (like stats from their check-ups, etc that I'd either have to try to remember, or try to find the paperwork with it on it- now its all in one place!)

I use to be a very organized person....a husband and three kids later...not so much anymore! So I scrap what inspires me at the time. Sometimes I have a kit for a CT to work on, other times I have a kit I just want to play with....it's all very random.

I try to use the newest photos with the newest kit releases :). but it depends.. I love to scrap with older photos too..

I scrap with the kit in mind--and yes, sometimes I get a photo I LOVE and scrap it more than once!! It's usually with different journaling--a trait or character thing besides the event, or something cute they said. Since my grandkids don't live by us (most of them) I see something on facebook that their mom will write--so I'll scrap it--with a photo I have, or one she'll send to me! I have NO thoughts of EVER getting "caught up." I've been married for over 50 years now--and wow, that's a LOT of photos!! I don't print them. I plan to make dvd's for my kids for Christmas this year! They can print them if they want to!!

I scrap what strikes my fancy or matches the kit I get from my designer. I use really old, really new or in between photos. I love to mix and match kits too. Just last week, I did photos for a layout from 2002 and then another one from photos from three days ago! (gotta love digital age for that :) )

It's weird because in all other aspects of life, I am totally organized and things are done in order. LOL.

I print in chronological order but for the most part I just find photos that go with the kit or the other way around.

I just go with the flow. I have tried to be very organized and chronological but it's just to much pressure. I am trying to be chronological this year with my PL album only. However, I always date my layouts so I can organize them in chronological order when they are printed.

I scrap out of order but I definitely put the printed pages in books chronologically! Which is sometimes a pain to go back and reorganize everytime I print...but I couldn't imagine confining my creativity to chronologically scrapping :)

Another one who scraps out of order, although I would love to scrap chrono! But if I were to ever print my pages, it would have to be in chrono order.

And sometimes like others, I'll take pictures just to match the kit, haha!!

When I paper scrapped, I always scrapped in order because I was using Creative Memories and I couldn't scrap if I didn't know what should go on the back of the page ;) It was quite confining because sometimes the photos just didn't inspire me and then I ended up with pages that I really didn't like.
One of my favorite things about digi is that I can scrap whatever I want and I don't have to worry about it being wrong in the book because when I print, I just put them in order!
Most of the time now, I start with the kit for inspiration.
I always label my LOs with the year-month so I know where it goes.

I've done that many times... when we are CT members we need to scrap even then we don't have any story to tell, so taking a picture to match is the best way to do it... and I've been a CTM for many designers...
