Homemade Christmas?

Do you make gifts (scrapbooked or not) for Christmas?
What are you making this year?
What has been the best homemade gift that you have ever given?

Some years I can be pretty creative and of course have done calendars, yearly albums and cookies/candies to give out.
I think my favorite was when I did a 12 days of Christmas for my girl's teachers. Every day, they had a little gift waiting for them. Of course, I originally found the idea on Pinterest, but I listed full instructions for each day and costs. I love giving little things and making them special. The list had things like 1 Clipboard, 2 red pens, 3 Binder Clips, etc

One of the days was to create this super cute snowman basket for hot cocoa. You could use this guy for anything. https://meaganshowto.blogspot.com/2012/12/12-days-of-christmas-day-6-snowman-hot.html
For the 6th day of Christmas,
cold hands, face and toes,
warm up with these 6 packs
of cocoa and marshmallows.

OH Meagan! That was splendid...LOVE all the 12 days! You are so creative and I bet the teachers loved it.
Makes me want to try as well...hmmm...

Your blog is awesome, I could spend all day on there, thanks for all the wonderful inspiration!!

How cute is that? My son's class had a PJ day, just them, not the whole school. His teacher took a class photo and I was able to snag a copy. I scrapped a cute page for her using Dreamy by Ponytails designs and had it printed 8x10 size. I'm going to get a cute light weight frame and put it inside for her for Christmas...
And I'm undecided what else I will do. My son really really loves his teacher this year and I want her to know that!! Usually I don't do much at Christmas, but I really go to town and do something each day of Teacher Appreciation week.

I'd like to do even more that's homemade, especially scrapping/photography related, but I am not good at planning! :D I get to the end of the year and think - oh, I'd like to make a year-end book about my niece, but I hardly have any pictures of her from over the summer when her mom was off work. Or I want to make a calendar for the grandparents but I am missing any pictures at all from October, when I was so sick.

I need to make a list NOW of scrap/photog presents I would like to give NEXT year and then set up some calendar reminders to take the right pictures at the right times of year!

I love the 12 days of Christmas idea!
ive made many gifts over the years. Calendars for several years too.

I love making homemade gifts. I do calendars for our family every year. This year I'm sending my sister "snowballs". =) I did this for a friend last year, but didn't have time to finish the whole project for their family. I think it is for the best because they just moved to Hawaii recently and now I can send them snow! LOL! You make stuffed balls out of a white, fuzzy micro knit fabric and then I put faces on each one, placed them in a festive basket with a big bow, and made a card with some game ideas on how to use them rather than just throw them at each other. I find lots of DIY projects online and love getting ideas from others.

I'll have to look at that mittens link. I'm actually getting back into knitting and want to learn to knit them myself! =) I thought I would start small and do a gift card holder sized mitten first! Might even get to it this year. Right now I'm knitting an American Girl Doll sized sweater before tackling a full sized one!! =)
