I've been a paper scrapper for many years and have been trying to move into digital. I have the Affinity programs but realize people use different Affinity programs - Photo, Designer, Publisher. Which one is best for scrapbooking double page layouts that will be printed and placed in a traditional album?

Howdy and welcome! You are so right, there are a ton of awesome digi scrapbook programs out there. I use PhotoShop so I can't answer your Affinity program question. I upload my favorite pages into a Shutterfly album. I make one album a year to showcase that year's activities and milestones (or whatever pages just make me laugh). So glad you're here!

Welcome to Gingerscraps! I also use Photoshop, but I do know that there are quite a few here that use Affinity and will be happy to answer your questions. In the meantime, we are happy that you are here and are looking forward to seeing your creations!

Welcome to GingerScraps! I’m so glad you’re here and making the move into digital scrapbooking, it’s such a fun creative journey! Be sure to stop by the Welcome Wagon on the forum; it’s a great place to get started and find your way around.

I personally use Photoshop and Affinity Photo, and I do all my Affinity scrapping on my iPad. I also have Affinity Publisher and Designer, but I haven’t really played with them yet. Using Affinity Photo and Photoshop and works perfectly for creating double-page layouts that you can print and slip right into your traditional albums.

I’m planning to post a few Affinity tutorials soon on my YouTube channel, so keep an eye out for those! And if you happen to use Photoshop Elements, we also have a TON of great tutorials on the GingerScraps blog that can help you get comfortable with digital techniques.

Hello! Welcome to GS - I'm sorry I can't help with Affinity as I use Photoshop. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you!

Welcome!! Switching to digital was a learning curve but I am so glad I did it! When I started scrapping digitally I had no idea that one day I was would a designer! 🙂

I have been learning Affinty Photo for the iPad because I want to start doing the bulk of my scrapping on the iPad. I am not one to answer your questions because I am just learning, but I know that there will be good answers on here for you!

Blessings, Joy

Hi and welcome to GS!
have you scrap digitally? do you know to use an editor? If you've never used an editor, start with an online one, and make sure it's the easiest one, like Canva
Try to watch videos on youtube, the good point is that you can watch them over and over, and learn new things. Experiment, create and have fun scrapping your page.
I use GIMP, but it took me years to learn to use it, and I taught to myself by watching videos on youtube.
Once again welcome, so glad you join us!

Welcome to Ginger Scraps! Like some of the others, I use Photoshop so I'm not much help on your question. Thank goodness for YouTube though! I have found that there are videos on nearly everything you could want to learn more about and a quick search on Affinity came back with what looks like some good ones.

I learn best by playing around with things to get familiar with where options are and then watch a video that let's me follow along and try things out.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Welcome to GS. I also use Photoshop, so I'm not much of a help either. Hope you like it here.

Welcome to GS! I am also using Photoshop but I am sure that there will be someone that can guide you around here! :)
