Hi everyone, I'm April. I'm from Texas, USA. I love to scrapbook and I have a payhip store (ApriltheScrapaholic) where I sell stuff I make. That's the only place I'm at. But lately it's gotten kind of lonely. So, when I saw Gingerscraps on facebook and saw some amazing designers that I recognized, I decided to look around. I found your store and I've found the forum. I haven't been in a forum for maybe going on 5 or more years now so I'm a little bit rusty. I thought maybe I could come play sometime. I've been so busy making stuff that I haven't actually been playing. I think I need to play. I'll try and check out some of the challenges and see what else is going on.
I do have a full time job at a bakery that's just going non-stop. It's so busy it's getting stressing now. So scrapbooking is my getaway from it all. I recently in the past couple of years lost 4 of my dogs. Peanut a Llasa Apso/Poodle mix raised from a puppy 15yrs old in Feb of 2023, Shaylee a Llasa Apso/Poodle mix also raised from a puppy 18yrs old passed in June 2023, Roxie a yorkie (a rescue about 15yrs old) passed this last May 21st 2025 and my sweet Biscuit also a yorkie just passed this last month September 26 2025. He was also a rescue possibly 15yrs too. And I'm only telling you this because this is who I am. I've been a dog mom for the past 20 years. And my hearts broken. However, they all live long happy lives. Especially my Shaylee. So, I'll probably scrap about them. I miss and love each of them so very much. To be honest I'm still in mourning of all of them. You just can't believe they're gone when they go. And you can't bring them back. And you hear and see them everywhere. Such blessings.
Now that being said I got a kitten from a really good friend last October. His name is Tater. And I swear, he's the reincarnation of my sweet Peanut. I know that's not possible. But he has a lot of the same characteristics. And I love him so. And he needed a home and he chose me. From the moment I met him he fell asleep on my chest and purred and that was it. He misses Roxie and Biscuit too. He used to sleep with them in their dog beds. Also just recently I got another kitten I named Brandi. The vet thinks she might be half maine coone. A neighbor had some kittens and the moment I saw her I just knew she needed to be with me. And would you know when I picked her up from the grass she purred on my chest too. Now her and Tater are two peas in a pod. And so glad I got her because he would have been so lonely without Biscuit.
So now I'm a cat mom. And man is it different. Lovely but different. You'll get to meet everyone in my layouts I will post.
Also I'm a widower. My husband passed a long time ago in 2010. I was only 41 and he 36. From the swine flu and pneumonia. That was a rough time too. So I live with just my fur babies. I do have my dad still and I have two brothers. One has 4 kids. Arianna 19, Olivia 12, Bodi 10 and River 8. They are all my pride and joy. If I can't be an actual mom I can be the best aunt ever.
So that's me in a large nutshell. Thank you for having me here. j
