HELP!!!! with PSE

I am having trouble now since windows 11 update the other night...now all of my PSD files are saving a really big size for some reason....I would reinstall it but it is an old program PSE7 and I don't usually have any problems with it???

Oh, Linda - I feel your pain!!! Is it the PSD files exceeds the limit issue or is it the actual psd files too large?

Getting back into the digital scrapbooking world, I started out on PSE20, it done something very similar. But it was the save for web function for me. I would same as jpeg but had to drop down to 50% (poor quality) to get it to the size the gallery needs. I had to blow the dust off of my old designer laptop when I was using CS4 to convert the files correctly. After a month or so, I deleted PSE and re-installed and hasn't had an issue since.

I do get the "file exceeds more than 2GB" error a lot! Especially when I am working with lots of layers. To remedy this, I just start merging layers with paper attached to it, individually and that works for me. But of course I do leave the original template alone. I have temps saved of EHD and move them to my desktop when scrapping.

So, even though I can't help you - you are not alone in the land of Photoshop problems!

My program is so old PSE7 I am afraid to try and reinstall...I think it was just the templates I was working with I did end up merging my masked photos together with papers and that seemed to help still a Big file but I saved it at a lower quality.

I am with you! It is so weird too because when I use the TIF files it seems to be smaller. It never occured to me to squish the layers together. Maybe I will try that next time. It is so weird because it is not all the templates I use, just some.
