Help - images are blurry

Why are my images/layouts that I'm posting so blurry compared to others. I use My Memories Suite and to be able to get my images to upload to the Gallery I have to save my layouts to Web/Email 600x600 pixels but then they look so blurry compared to when I save them at a higher pixel - is there any way around this? Thanks in advance for anyone that is able to help me out on this :)

I am not sure about My Memories Suite - every program has their own way of saving. In Photoshop or PHotoshop elements, I can save a full resolution image, but I can't always get it down to 600x600 < 450kb. What I do to get around it is create a new layout 600x600 72ppi and drag the full sized layout on there and save. I usually get a pretty clear image with not much pixelation or blurring. I am sure there are easier ways to do it, but I am not sure what they are :)

I know I could resize my image within the program, but I am TERRIFIED I will overlay the original, so I never do that.

So you're working hard, not smart! If you save your original layout as a .psd file as soon as you finish it, you're NOT going to mess up that original layout. Resizing is pretty easy, and then you can pull the "quality" slider to the left until you've got a file size less than 450 KB. You know what? I think this topic deserves a tutorial. Coming right up!

Jan, Did you ever do a tutorial on this? i just started using Photoshop CC and on my most recent pages my text looks like mumbo jumbo. I can't figure out why, but it sounds like this might have something to do with it.

I always save my page as a .psd first and then resize it and save it as a .jpg. I work on a laptop (not Mac). Could you, or anyone else help me on this? I'll keep looking for that tutorial. Thanks!!

Jan, I went to "here" and it says I have to go to Wordpress.org. I'm not familiar with that and it's asking me to install things that I don't know how to install, LOL. Is there an easier way to get to that tutorial or do I need to suck it up and learn how to install Wordpress?

That's it! Thank you so much, Rochelle! I'm doing it right. I guess those couple of times my text was blurry was something else I did. It probably has something to do with learning Photoshop CC. Thanks again!!
