Hi everyone! I am a new member here at GingerScraps, but I am not new to digital scrapbooking. I was extremely prolific a few years back, but then life came in and I dropped it for quite a while. I'm coming back to it and I have to say, the scrapping world has really changed! Many of my favorite designers no longer have shoppes or design anymore, so I'm feeling quite the newbie here.

I am a clean and simple scrapper that wants to be more artsy journal type and graphic. I will be doing a lot of scraplifting and tutorials to try to learn how to do what I love to see.

I am an older Mom of a 12 year old, Melissa, and I home educate her here in the hot desert of Las Vegas!

Welcome Susan! It was great chatting with you last night! I remember getting lots of inspiration from your blog back in the day.... so thank you! :)

Thank you so much!!! I just went back to my blog and looked over all the scraplifts and remembered all the fun! It was a lot of work, but it was a great time!

Hi Susan! Welcome to GingerScraps. It's great to meet you! I have 2 boys that I homeschool (14 & 15 year olds). I don't envy the heat in Las Vegas. It gets hot enough for me here in sunny So Cal!

Thanks! I used to live in So Cal until the end of 2012. I'm still getting used to the heat, although I don't know if I will ever be used to it!

We've talked about moving out of So Cal...it's a big decision since we both grew up here & our family is here. A friend of mine moved up to N Las Vegas at the end of summer last year. She loves it there!!

I was born and raised in South Orange County, and I was 49 when we moved. It was necessary, and family was here, so it was the logical choice. My husband was unemployed and we had lost our condo, moved in with my parents, then my Dad died, then the house had to go...we were going to be homeless. It took me getting that far to decide to move, but now that I'm here I cannot go back. It's too expensive, and the political climate is too tumultuous for me.

That's a lot to go through, Susan. I hope things have gotten better since your move!

oh yes, I'm many ways, but like life usually is, one trades one challenge for another!! My husband finally found a really good job, and due to the home prices here, we are in a brand new house and very much enjoying life here except the heat in the summer. The desert is beautiful 9 months out of the year!!

Now we are dealing with My moms cancer ( she's winning !!!" And my MIL is in the first stages of Alzheimer's - so it is good that we are here to help.

HI Susan! Welcome to GS...I'm LOLing about Viva Lost Wages...
I'm glad your move to LV was good and wonderful you are around family. Yay for your mom and hugs about your MIL. My MIL is also in the early stages, she's in So Cal and my SIL is there to help her. We often talk about moving out of CA, but it's a huge decision. I told DH the kids will have to decide for us, lol. Wherever they end up, we will follow, lol...

Em, that's probably the only thing that keeps us in CA... I thought it would be easier with Kayla married, but it makes us think about Grandbabies! LOL!
