Hi there...

I just joined your group today and wanted to say hello! I'm fairly new to digital scrapbooking and have wanted to try it out for several years now, but I have been a full time student and never really had the time or energy to delve into a new hobby. BUT....I am finally graduating in June and my classes are starting to wind down, so I'm giving it a try. :) I took a few of Jessica Sprague's classes which got me going with some Photoshop know-how, and I've been having fun ever since.

Anyhoo, it is nice to meet you all and I look forward to seeing all of your great creativity!

So glad you joined us - such a lot going on in your life, too, with your upcoming graduation and your visit from your dad :) I am looking forward to seeing the gallery overflowing with your layouts - you will absolutely love being here. It is by far the sweetest, nicest, kindest place on the planet. The people here are lovely, the designers wonderful and your scrapping pages will always get some love! Please let us know if you have any questions. Plus we have lots of Aussies here! I know you are from Seattle, but thought you might be from Australia if that is where your dad is...
 
Thanks for the welcome! :) Yes I am from Australia...I miss my family back home, though I do get a visit from my mother every second year and we usually go on vacation together someplace we haven't been before. I'm a little hesitant to post my layouts since I'm a newbie to digiscrap and everyone else has so much more skill!

Oh goodness, that is not true at all. If you look at the galleries, there is a whole range of skill there. You learn by doing. You can also create a thread for a layout in progress and ask for constructive suggestions, if you wish. Learning is fun, the layouts are yours for your memories and learn to love the old ones as you progress to the newer ones :) I wish I could show you some of the dreadful designs when I first scrapped - but I still love them because I was learning and I love the pictures. Never lose sight of the reason you scrap. We will help enhance your skills :) Just ask!

Thanks for the reassurance...I've uploaded some now, so try not to go blind from my inexperience. lol :)
 
Welcome, there are skills of every kind here, just don't be hard on yourself, sharing layouts is a great way to learn about people. You picked a great place to settle in.
