I enjoyed scrapbooking but was never completely satisfied (or completely finished) with my albums. Cutting and taping onto pages didn't result in the look I imagined. Punches and cutting systems hurt my hands. The mess, oh the mess! It was a project just to get set up and then I had to clean it all up again.
Over the years I had seen photo books but I really love the look of embellishments on the page. It needed to be REAL (or look real). Finally someone introduced me to studioJ software and within a few months I had completed more albums than I had even started in the prior ten years!! Now studioJ is (will be soon) defunct and I found a whole new world using Photoshop Elements and am already enjoying the benefits.
I love to scrap quickly with templates yet also enjoy the creativity inspired by an empty page. When I've found a layout I love, I may spend hours adding layer upon layer of embellishment to get it just right. With my recent discovery of photo masks I am having so much fun creating layouts I could only imagine in the past!
My husband and I purchased a lovely home built in 1860 in October 2014. It had a carriage house that was beginning to sink and had lots of years of wear. My Crafty Carriage House was born! Over the past year we refurbished it and I have finally been able to begin using it for quilting and scrapbooking. How much room do you need when you are scrapping digitally anyway?! Soon my pottery wheel and kiln will be moved from the garage and I'll be able to start throwing again. I love that I can move from one craft to another without leaving the room!
