Have You Ever

Have you ever used a photo for a layout and later thought the same photo would be perfect for a different layout and used it again? Or do you find yourself "holding onto" certain photo's until the "perfect" kit comes along in which to use them?

I haven't actually done it yet but have thought about it several times! LOL hehe

Nope :D - I have so many photos to scrap that I don't ever use the same photo more than once because I just don't have enough time in my life to duplicate. I've never waited for the "perfect" kit either, but then I have a VERY extensive collection of kits so I can always find something to go with my photos. Waiting for perfection is futile, IMO, it never happens!

Ditto above. Except...if I've rescrapped the same photo it is because I forgot I scrapped it already.

I have scrapped the same photo several times especially the wedding ones just because I like the photo so much. Or like Michelle said have forgotten I scrapped it! LOL I have tons of photos to use but a lot of mine are still very old and need to be scanned and I am just too lazy to do that.

Yes I have. I figure I will just put it in each of my kids' books anyway. I need two of the same. LOL

Sometimes, it is just the perfect photo for the kit I'm using and I use it anyway, sometimes, like others, I forget I already used it!

I've scrapped several photos, several times!! I'm guilty of it. But I also don't scrap day by day, but how the mood/emotions scrap. Another thing I am guilty of doing is not knowing what photos I'm going to scrap until I've scrapped 85% of the layout and it's time to place the photo(s). I'm an emotional scrapper and if it means scrapping the same photo three, four, five times, it must have been an important photo for me to scrap it that many times!!

I have rescrapped a photo on a couple of occassions purposely. I have also rescrapped an entire page if I don't like how it turned out. Mostly, once I am done, that is it though!

In my previous scrapbooking life at my old (now closed) home, I would never have used the same photo more than once...I HAVE printed the same LO a couple of times to complete a book for each of the grandchildren though. Now my scrapbooking scruples have changed somewhat and I find myself scrapping some old and favourite photos that I had previously scrapped...this time using GS products and creating a whole new look.

I scrap photos again. Usually because my skill or style changed from when I last used it. Sometimes, like Kim, I just really like the photo and I don't mind seeing it over-and-over again in my scrapbooks. I have held on to one or two photos until the perfect kit comes along.

I've re-scrapped my wedding photos quite often, because: 1. I love them. 2. My skills are continually improving, and 3. Amazing new kits are always coming out. But for everyday photos, I tend to only use them once, as I have a lot to scrap! I will sometimes reuse a photo for a CT layout though, if it just goes perfectly with a kit.

I have made books for both of my sons and family albums, so I have used the same photos more than once. I need to find a system of some sort, though, because I jump around when I scrap so I never remember if I have done a set of photos or not and, even if I have, which book I have done it for!

I have with older photos. We all used to take far less photos and sometimes I have more to say about a particular photo, so I use it again. I have one set of beach photos from 2006 that I've scrapped at least three times. Once just because they were pretty, once for my stepson (back when I wanted to make separate albums for him, that phase didn't last long!). And once with a ton of journaling talking about what a sad time that was, even though we all looked happy in the photos. And I can still think of things I'd like to say too so I'll probably use them again at some point.

Since I take SO MANY photos now, I don't really scrap duplicates anymore. I do like to do "then and now" type pages and I'll re-use older photos for those.

Last year I started a massive undertaking- renaming all my scrapbook pages. I used the Year-Month-Date format so they would all fall in chronological order. It's taken months, but I'm about 90% finished (2012 had some issues, so slowly working through those) I'm SO glad I took the time to do it and I'm confident that I'll probably never make a duplicate page again (unless I want to)

If you don't want to go back and rename all your old LO's, you could just do it with 2016 pages and see if you like the system.

I got the idea from Debbie Hodge. Mine is slightly different, but this was my jumping off point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWXuuEKgpM8

yes, i have scrapped the same foto more than once....not intentionally..but, probably because i really liked it that much...and forgot i had used it before...luckily, the foto looks so different when incorporated with a different kit..(ack now i am curious how often i have done it..will grab my coffee and take a trip down memory lane and look through my gallery)..my grandbabes always make me smile..especially when seeing them in lo's from a few years ago..(that i'd totally forgotten about..lol)

I've done both! If it's a theme I only have a few pix I'll reuse them. I also have photos that I will wait to scrap until I have a kit that's just right!

LOL! I've done both!!
I changed my system of naming LOs after about my first year of digi so that they are chronological & I store them with my photos once I'm done, so I know when I'm re-scrapping something. But, I have done it on purpose, for several reasons that have already been listed.
I also have photos that I'm hanging onto for the "perfect kit". I may already have that kit, but right now my kits aren't organized enough to find it when I want it (that's a project that unfortunately keeps getting moved to the end of the list!).

I scrap and rescrap a photo. Sometimes because I need it for something else that I'm doing (my book/kids book/grandparents) and sometimes because it is perfect with another kit that I like better with it. Sometimes I just love the photo and want to play with it again!

I don't think I've duplicated the use of any photos-mostly because I have SO MANY photos to use and catch up with. I just cant justify scrapping one photo twice when there are thousands and thousands untouched! :)

I do have some pictures that are waiting for "that perfect kit!" :)
