Happy Cinco de Mayo!

We've had a full week of celebrating fun holidays.

May 1st was May Day. I have such fond memories of making little May Day baskets for our neighbors and friends and leaving them on their door stops and then running away! Ha. I wish we could bring back that tradition.

Yesterday was May the Fourth (May the Force be with You... and all things Star Wars). We watched a cool documentary last night on how they made the actor Mark Hamill look like the 1977 version of himself.

Today can be considered "Revenge of the Fifth" (Revenge of the Sith... also a Star Wars reference). But I prefer to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Our community has a large Mexican population and there will be a huge celebration. I will convince the hubster to take me out for tamales tonight for supper!

What holiday are you celebrating this month? How do you like to celebrate?

I’ve never heard of that for May Day sounds nice.

id love to know the documentary you watched because I love baby yoda and have asked that question myself.

not much for the 4th or 5th either.

mother's day and Victoria Day long weekend are the ones we follow here. The “May long” as it’s known signals the start of spring, many go camping.

We have several May celebrations. May first is Labour Day to celebrate the acchievments of workers. Then there is May forth. It is not a celebration day but a remembrance day. On this day we remember all who died in wars, past and present, but in special World War II.
May fifth we celebrate that our country is liberated from the Germans and Germany was defeated in World War II. There are music festivals all over the country.
Then ofcourse there is Mother's day on the second Sunday in May
On thursday 40 days after Eastern we celebrate Ascension Day, this day we commemorate the Christian belief of the bodily ascension of Jesus into Heaven. This day there are also many festivals and other festivities.
