Halloween

I loooove the colors and the fun things that happen during Halloween, but I don't like scary. When my kids were little we trick or treated a couple of times, but mostly went to school events. I really like creating treat bags and party supplies for Halloween.

What are your feelings about it?

I love the fun props for Halloween and even though my kids are grown now, I still love to go out and walk around, seeing the displays, watching the kids having fun and we give out a ton of candy as we get a few hundred kids come by. Usually my daughter comes over and we have a simple dinner, take turns answering the door and then hubs will give out candy if we go out walking around for awhile. Of course if the rain comes I stay indoors and just enjoy the kids coming to the door. We always watch a Halloween themed show or movie. Not sure what this year will be. Guess I should start thinking about. Last year we watched The Purge 1 and 2 so maybe we'll see the 3rd one this year. There is also a newer Friday the 13th movie that we haven't seen too, so that's a possibility.

That sounds fun! There aren't kids that stop here. Most of the neighborhood kids go to the school event they have in the gym.

I am not big on scary, but love dressing up. WHen my kids were little, I loved making Halloween costumes. They always went out trick or treating. We always carved pumpkins - loads of fun!

Here in Australia we do not do much in celebrating Halloween until we came to live in this small country town where the local children do go Trick or Treating. I enjoy creating something digitally with a Bible Verse to go with some form of candy or treat.

Halloween is my second fav right behind Christmas. I love the black/orange color scheme. I like non-scary stuff, for myself and kids. LOL.

we do not celebrate Halloween over here.. I like it though and would love to witness the festivities and the atmosphere of it in the US :)

I carved pumpkins too!! I do think there is a "fun" side to Halloween!

Anne-Marie....that is a great idea!! I should so do that.......wait...we have no trick or treaters here in our neighbor hood. :(

It can be fun!! I once did more of a "Fall" party for my boys football team when they were young. We did a scavenger hunt, bonfire and more. Way fun!

I enjoy Halloween. I love to decorate with pg-13 decor (fun ghosts and cute witches with plenty of fall foliage mixed in) and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. Occasionally Syd and her friends still dress up. (Last year they went as frat boys😂) One year the girls and I carved mini jack-o-lanterns from oranges and filled them with fruit. We used green cocktail picks for the stems. I do think Halloween might be my favorite holiday to scrapbook!!

I am not a fan. I love fall. I love the colors and the cooler temps but I am not not a fan of Halloween at all. I pretended while raising my kids but now that they are mostly on their own, we go dark on Halloween. Husband and I started going to dinner and a movie which is better than buying and eating candy for a week. Hahaha

I love Halloween, we don't really celebrate it here in Australia as much as the US. We used to dress the whole front yard up & all the kids. We have a smoke machine & a black light & big old cauldron we fill with dry ice. Haven't done it the last few years as it falls too close to an event we work on & not enough time to get everything set up. I don't so much like the gory halloween stuff but it hs enabled us to meet lots of our neighbours in the process of handing out treats

Omg...those little pumpkins are so cute!! I really like the decorations and all, but I'm not into dressing up. Everyone at work is going to dress up and I just don't want to. I'm not good at it and I just get embarrassed.

That actually sounds fun. I might have to give that a try.

My go-to costume is a football jersey style shirt I had screen printed with “GO CEILINGS” and “CEILINGS ARE #1” .... I bought a couple of cheap pom-poms and go as a ceiling fan!! I have to explain it to some people but I don’t care, it makes me laugh every year!

I love Halloween, even though it typically means a blizzard every year. Costumes must be made big enough to fit over snowsuits and adjustable enough to be worn indoors. We have neighbors that put on a haunted garage every year that is amazing. Hundreds come to see it. I love to dress up and have won a few costume contests. At work, or with the kids, or just because it’s so much fun.
