Gallery Rules

I would like clarification on the rules for the Gallery here with becoming more involved here and for others just coming along joining for the first time I would like to know what is required for layouts in the gallery.

Is it a totally open gallery? I realise there would be no outside links allowed to other stores or forums.

For challenges can you use a kit that is not available in the store? - share it in the forum thread but not add it to the Cookie Jar as I realise that is for points towards incentive kits and for that the layouts need to have 50% Ginger Scraps products on them.

Thank you for whoever comes along and answers these questions for me.

It is open in the sense that you can post layouts created with non-Ginger Scraps supplies. However, when posting credits for your layouts, you can only post links to products that are available at Ginger Scraps. So if you use non-Ginger Scraps products in your layouts, your credits should just indicate the product name and designer, but not include a link to that product. For Ginger Scraps products, you can include the link to the product. Hopefully that's clear?

My understanding (and hopefully Missi or Ginger will correct me if I'm wrong), is that for the challenges you need to have at least 50% Ginger Scraps products as part of the layout. However, you can use retired products from a designer, as long as that designer is still selling at Ginger Scraps. Each challenge needs to have a unique layout as well. For example, you can't use one layout to satisfy two challenges in a month - each challenge has to have its own layout.

I think Anne Marie wants to know can she use a non-GS product to do the challenge and share it in the challenge thread, but then OPT out of the tracking thread for points. Just to participate in the challenge?

What Kiana has shared is what I was asking. Maybe I worded my information wrongly.

I like to use the challenges as inspiration to get some memory pages created but am not concerned about the Cookie Jar for all that I create as I have so many many kits in my stash that I would like to make use of.

Hi,
The challenges are open to any kit. However, if you want to have your layout count towards your challenge totals, you will have to use 50% GS products. If you just want to use up your stash, you can use any kit to do the challenge with. It just won't count toward your totals. You can post it in the challenge thread, too, even if you didn't use 50% GS products. I really like your idea of using the stash to create more products with the challenges for inspiration. Great idea! Hope this helps!
