Forgetting to check your stash

Please tell me I am not the only one who sometimes forgets to check my stash before I buy something in the store?
I'm a sucker for a good sale, so of course I had to jump on this months amazing Bake sale and the Retirement sale... But in my excitement I forgot to double check and ended up purchasing a set of Connie's templates I already have!

YESSSSSSS! I actually made a new "rule" for myself that I can't buy anymore bake sale goodies until I've used everything from last month's at least once. Hopefully that will cut down on duplicate buying. Or more likely I'll forget my new rule by next month. :blush

Yes! AND...I've even checked my stash and go ahead and buy something when I don't see the title. Upon downloading my computer sees the ZIPS I already downloaded after buying it the FIRST time and never came back to unzip into a folder...gah! So, I've learned to also check any unzipped files too! :36_19_1:

I swear I checked this time too! Oh well. At least it was only $1 template set and not a big bundle or I'd really be kicking myself! :)
And we know our designers here are worth it once and awhile ;)

I have done it - many times. So this is what I did - I created 2 different word documents. The first is an alphabetical list of each kit, bundle or template I have purchased. After the name I list the designer, where I bought it, the order number and the date (In case I need to go back and download part of it again). The second document is alphabetical by designer. Under each designer I name the kit then paste a picture of it. When I buy a new kit I add it to both lists. I also specify what I have - kit, torn papers, templates, journal cards, etc... It was a pain to get it all together at the beginning but it has saved my butt so many times when I was about to make a duplicate purchase. It is also nice to be able to have the second document where I can browse through the pages and find a kit that would work for specific pages because I can see pictures of what I have.

I have one main folder for supplies, that I've purchased, but not put into Elements. Inside that folder is another folder for sources I use, lately only GS LOL! When I buy something, I put it in the source folder by designer name_title. After I download everything, I grab the zip files, slide them into Extract Now, and unzip them all at once. My other main folder is labeled Get Organized Now. When I'm ready to put a purchase into Elements, I just slide the the folder over. Long story short I have two places to check, but there have been times when I've forgotten to check.:36_1_37:

can I ask something? Extracting a bunch all. At once? Say what? I don't have to do them one at a time? Where does he stuff go? In its own folded or all jumbled together? ...... I'm computer illiterate I admit it. I scrap on the iPad, I only go near computer to extract.

It's a super cool free little program, yes they extract all at once:36_1_33: I just drag all of my new ones at once and they all unzip into the parent files they came from. No muss, no fuss, no jumble. I hated that one at a time business,.

Nothing worse that buying what you already spent money on lol
Done it a few times myself.
I like the stores that have the 'You already bought that' feature.
I know the zen cart stores have that option not sure what GS uses.
