Fit Bit

Anyone have one? What can you tell me about it? Is it worth it? Do you use it enough for it to be worth the money?

I LOVE my Fitbit One.. I use it everyday and really don't have to think about it unless I want to. Somedays I care more than others but when I want to you can check your stats online and compete/support other members etc. I like the One and don't the for the zip or the Flex. There is also a lot of specific groups of ladies like Weightwatchers etc.

I got a fitbit flex about 5 months ago and I love it. It was about $100. At first I was shocked at how little steps I took a day and so it motivated me to get to the 10,000 steps almost every day. I also use the smartphone app to track my calories with eating and steps. Helps keep me motivated and think before I eat a handful of chips or a cookie.

I finally was able to show my husband one, and he liked it. The biggest thing he liked was that the one I wanted was small, not much bigger than the wristbands people wear,, like LIVESTRONG :D

I have had my Fitbit flex for less than a month, but love the effortless sync with my computer/phone, the ability to track my water, foord and the incentive to get my steps in. One night I took 8 laps around the downstairs to meet my goal! Cost at my local Sports Authority was $99

I love mine, I started out with the fitbit ultra, had it for over a year and it was a daily inspiration to get my steps in, I have now moved onto the flex and cannot say enough positive things about it, I have lost right at 100 lbs since first getting my fitbit and walk about 10,000 steps per day

I'm way late to this thread, but wanted to add that i LOVE mine! :) I got a FitBit Flex for Christmas and it's been on my wrist ever since. LOL Comfortable to wear and easy to use! Anyone else try one recently?

I have never heard of it - but this weekend decided, enough is enough - I have packed on 50+ pounds over the past 6 years and feel terrible. I'm off to check it out right now!

I was in Sam's today and saw a new product displayed next to the FitBit. The new one was called MisFit Shine. It looked to do the same things, ie, count steps, monitor sleep, etc.

ooh! That one clips on and you don't have to wear it as a bracelet (I get dirty at my work).... that is cool!!

Alright Sarah! I've had a lot of pedometers/ fitness trackers and they all have their advantages and disadvantages. I've learned that for me, I need a wristband. I lost my clip on fitbit in the park about a month after I got it, so that was $100 down the drain. I loved the app for the UP band the best, but I got the first generation and went through two broken ones before they ended up recalling them. (Though I've heard that the newer ones work much better). I've liked my cheapo ones from Target, but they kept unclipping from my pants, and one ended up in a toilet... so yeah I don't need the clip ones ever again :P Now I have the fitbit Flex, and I like it. I love it when it has a "dance party" on my wrist after I've reached my goal. Two words of advice for Flex users- Be gentle putting the device into the wristband, and don't wear it in the shower or swimming. You can do both without damaging the device, but I was never able to get it completely dry afterward and it started having a musty yucky smell that I could not get rid of. Which turned out to be okay because my rough handling eventually broke the band (see advice #1) I replaced the bands and I'm a lot more careful now. :)

Mine isn't having problems drying. :/ But I also clean it now whenever I charge it. (that's a nice hour to two hours for it to fully dry). I'm looking into spare bands. The reason for that is more cosmetic than anything. It's just HARD deciphering if they're small or medium (my wrist is WAY too small for the mediums).

Sarah, you've made a sale! My MIL gave me some cash and I think I'm gonna put it towards one of these, I need some motivation! Costco has the Flex for $98 with three bands (black, lime and pink).

Maybe my drying problem was a flaw in my particular band. It ended up breaking in half after about six weeks and there was a noticeable crack in the band near where you can see the lights, so I think water was getting in there from that. That's a good idea to clean it while it's charging. I bought the (overpriced) three color bands at best buy because I was desperate, but I've heard good things about the cheap ones you can get off amazon. If you do get replacement bands, be sure to keep your original clasp, it's nicer than the replacement bracelet clasps, and they're all interchangeable.

That's a great deal at Costco Lisa!

Thankfully, my band looks to be in good condition.
Good idea about keeping the clasp. I'm hoping to grab the like 10-pack of bands for the cost of the 3, and have some fun colors hehe

I'm a FitBit Flex user too! Sarah...I just friend requested you!!!

I got mine in October and love it...I got a little lazy this month and went through a period when I was *gasp* "unranked"!! But it's back on my wrist and ready for action! I used My Fitness Pal for tracking foods...once I get back into an exercise routine, I'll get back to tracking too...baby steps!

I saw the bands on amazon but was a little concerned about the quality of the "plastic" or whatever the material of the band is. The real FitBit one irritates my skin and gives me a rash...it's not horrible and not bad enough for me to stop wearing it...a little itchy and reddish but tolerable. I'm afraid if the quality of the cheaper bands on amazon is...well...cheaper...it will be worse on my skin.

They have more expensive bands, AND I have seen a few on Etsy, custom-made ones.

I offer no guarantees on them, but it's worth a look. :D
