File still too big

Sugar Cookie : GingerScraps Praise Team
The past two layouts I've tried to post have been repeatedly rejected as file too large! I've shrunk them to 8x8, 72dpi and medium file size. Still too big! Any suggestions? thank you.
 
What program are you using???
I'm an adobe gal.... so.

Once flattened.

Image> Image size.....600x600 pixels.
File> save for web or save for web and device [depends on version]

Once it shows up....make sure the 'size' is under 250 k. [actually... under 249 as the next 'save' adds a touch].

Then try.

Another thing to try is: log out, restart... etc.

yes; always flattening layers. Using PS Cloud; what's weird is that I always do it the same, but don't always have this problem. Could be the log out restart. thanks ladies...;)glee
 
When I use PS (or PSE - I have access to both), I always resize my file to 6 x 6, 100 dpi, then when I save as the JPG, I make sure it's under 250 (I don't judge by the "large", "medium", etc., because some are different than others).
 
Thanks Steph, I'd been sizing to 7x7 at 72dpi and choosing medium. Will try your way!
