Lynnie, thanks for the update on Sherri. So glad Alexis is keeping you informed.

Sharon, what was your favorite restaurant / dish?

LilyAnn, we've done a couple of escape rooms and the only time I escaped is when it was a work event. It was me and a room full of our IT professionals. Talk about brain power! The only clue they missed (that I contributed to) was color related! LOL!

This month is just flying by with work travel. I'm taking a long weekend this weekend for the holiday. Randy and I are supposed to travel... but his dad had surgery yesterday. Of course, his dad doesn't think anything of it and is going to have a very difficult time following doctors orders and just rest. He may be 80, but he's always on the go... driving to different states for auctions, working ground with large farm equipment, etc. He compromised with his doctor that he wouldn't farm or ride the lawn mower, but that he still planned to drive his pickup truck. LOL!

Most of my coworkers are out at other meetings today and tomorrow, so it's going to be very, very quiet at the office. Yay. Today in a couple of hours the Washington Monument releases their group tickets, so I'm going to try to grab those for my Youth Tour. Wish me luck.

COLOR-related... Of course you got that right!!! Well done!

I have finally got my trip to see my UK Grandchildren booked!! I am so excited. It will be the first time in 3 1/2 years. I used to go every year, but with finances and what have you, it has been a rough time to book. Last time we went, we got COVID, so we had to extend our stay quite a bit. What a nightmare. Anyway, all that is behind - two weeks with the kiddos HERE I COME!!

*looks around* Yeah, it is pretty quiet here.

Yesterday I joined a group service project (serving breakfast) to folks affected by the tornado in North St. Louis. I fell and injured myself a little. I've also been working on a multimedia project for school. It's weird but fun. This morning I went to a bridal shower and worked on my homework a bit. Don't have much going on tomorrow, except for church and maybe making more strawberry jam.

What's everyone else doing?

Hello Ladies! I am praying for all of you, for anything your going through. Life can be hard, and we need to take time to take care of ourselves. I have been doing good with my diet, I started eating healthier for just over 6 months ago. Lost 65 lbs. so far and I am off all meds except one. I still take one a day for high blood pressure, but I was taking 4 just for blood pressure, and a few other meds, (I was on 9 pills a day) so that is a big improvement, so happy with my results so far. I will never go back to eating sugars, starches, high carb veggies. I am now a full believer on low carb keto diet. I no longer have acid reflux, my knee pain is so low now, I do still have a lot of pain in shoulder, but that is do to a fall where I damaged my left shoulder. But I am doing some light weight exercising and hope that improves my left shoulder. I have bought a few new clothes since my loss in weight, but I am waiting until I get to my goal weight to buy more. My sister, and a good friend told me how well the diet was working for them and I decided to give it a try. So happy I did.
Yesterday I made the decision to step down from all CT positions, I was getting burned out & need a break. I will miss it for sure. I will still be doing challenges and buying beautiful kits by all the great designers. I will never leave GS... Your family! But I do want to work on some tutorials and learn more techniques. I didn't have the time to do that while working on CT layouts. So it's just a break, one day I will be back at it! I did get my 10 challenges in I think it has been a first time I didn't have to push myself to get them in on time...LOL
Ok ladies time for me to get off of here... You all have a beautiful week. I will stop by again soon!

Alta, congrats on your successes on your health journey! You should be very proud of yourself. That is not easy. I've been on my own health journey for the past five years. I will miss your work on your creative teams, but it's good to recognize when you need a break.

Lynnie, yay! So happy for you that you'll get to see your UK grands soon!

Ane, hope you're recovering from your injury. That is so kind of you to help with the storm restoration efforts. It can be grueling and emotional to volunteer for that type of work.

I took off a couple of days last week. Randy and I were planning to help his father after a medical procedure (Randy was planning on jumping in a tractor to help get a crop in). But then it poured rain and his dad was feeling good enough that he was out driving around and running errands. So we were able to quickly change plans and we headed to Florida for a quick Disney trip. As soon as he mentioned that was a possibility, I had everything booked within two hours and we left less than 48 hours later! LOL!!! I can't wait to scrap my "Kermit photo shoot". I'm seeing summer rapidly approaching with all my youth programs and summer conferences. So I'm very motivated to get as much done each day as possible so I don't hit the panic stage. I'll be in and out as time allows. Like Alta, I am taking a break from being a CT member for a designer who moved to another site. I just didn't have the time to keep up with two sites and the lack of time was reflected in the quality of my layouts.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hope everyone had a fantastic day! I haven't done much today, I have an earache, with some draining so hope to heal soon. I have had earaches all my life, I have had so many ear surgeries, I lost count. This one is not as bad as some, so grateful for that. They can be very painful.
breoni, I agree on the one site for CT layouts, I can't keep up with them, so I only do them at GS... My favorite place! I hope now I will have more time to stop in here, I am bad about keeping up with the chatting and waffling chats, but hope to do better, now that I have more time. Well ladies have a great night!

Shana, my knee feels better every day. It was great to take on that service project--I probably fell because I wasn't hydrated or fed enough, ironically enough. I've learned that for early morning service projects, I must eat breakfast no matter how early it is.

Speaking of service, I've taken on a service position for my church every Tuesday morning. I have to drive 45 minutes to get there, but it's worth it. I had a great time this morning despite having to get up early (for me). Oh, and yesterday we bought a new Jeep (Grand Cherokee) for me to drive. It's 2 years old, but that's ok. Maybe I'll scrap the picture hubby took of it. :)

Ane, how wonderful that you've found a way to support your community in a way that find valuable! We've tried to teach all the kids in our family that they need to give back and use their talents, in whatever way they can. I love taking photos of the dance team, cheerleaders, or students who can't afford to have senior photos taken. I don't charge for those services, but ask the kids to "pay it forward" as they are able. I wish I had more time for community service projects, but lately it's been a struggle just keeping up with work and home tasks. I haven't seen any of my local friends in months, and I really need to make time for them. I also need to drive down and meet our newest grand-niece. Maybe on Friday... that day I have to drive to the State FFA Convention to hand out the State Degree Charms to the 300+ students who earned that honor this year, bring my college intern back to the office, and then drive 2.5 hours to watch my nephew run in the state track meet. Then back home so I can get up early to attend a wedding on Saturday that's about 2 hours the opposite direction. Whew! Lots of windshield time this week. I need to find a new audio book or pod cast to listen to. Any recommendations?

Hiya Lynnie, hope you're feeling better! I've spent the morning onboarding a new intern. She is a college student who attended our youth program when she was a high schooler. Her brother is going to attend one of our youth programs next month, so she's excited for him. I have her working on activities for the program. It's so nice to have an alumni working here... she doesn't have to have the program explained to her since she's already lived it! Tomorrow, I'm taking her to the State FFA Convention where we sponsor the state degrees. I'm going to put her on stage to shake all 300+ hands of the high schoolers who have earned this honor. :)

Hey Lynnie, feel better soon!

I went to a local DMV this morning. After I got off the freeway, my phone fell on the floor so I didn't know to turn left. I turned right of course, and got lost. I turned around and made another wrong turn. I stopped twice to see where I was supposed to be going. When I got there, the line just to check in went around the room (hubby's experience here was way before mine, and barely took any time). Then I can't get the real id/DL because I didn't have a marriage certificate with me. So I go wait forever until my number is finally called to get my paper DL. Ladies, I was there for 3 hours and was starving (not to mention needing a bathroom). I had to stop myself from eating everything in sight when I got home, lol.

That was my day, how was yours? :p😵‍💫

Carla, my son does have an IEP that carried over to college. The only thing he gets is extended time which he doesn't really need. (or ask for LOL).

My son and I went to DMV the other day. We were in and out in about an hour or so and that includes the time he took the learner's permit test.

Amen that he passed it on the first try!

I've been suffering with postherpetic neuralgia the last two weeks and finally feeling a little better. I went to a pain management doctor for the first time on Friday. He prescribed Cymbalta for the pain. It's main indication is for depression but it works well for nerve pain as well. I think (as long as the pain is at bay the rest of the week) I'll start it on Friday to keep an eye out for side effects over the weekend.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hello Ladies!
Lynnie hope your feeling better. prayers.
I have been watching tutorials wanting to learn some new tricks for scrapping... I was using Glimpse but they close down, so I am back to using GIMP, and it has made some changes so have to relearn a few things. I am slowly getting there. They go to fast in the videos, so I have to watch them over and over again. LOL But I am enjoying learning something new, Got a couple challenges done... and it is only the 2nd of June... LOL so maybe I won't be hurrying to finish up my 10 challenges before the end of the month LOL we will see.
My left shoulder is giving me a lot of pain. I have arthritis is both shoulders, hip and knees, but I have been doing some light exercises, which has helped with the knees and hip. But my left shoulder is no better. The doctor said he thinks it is because of the damage I done to it when I had a fall a couple years ago, I landed on that shoulder. I don't want to take pain meds so I am dealing with the pain. If it gets worse I might have to take something but I will avoid that as long as I can.
Today was a lazy day, I stayed in PJ's all day... LOL Well I am signing off, have a great week ladies, I will stop in again soon...

Alta, I love those lazy, pajama days!

I have less than two weeks before I leave with the group of high schoolers for DC. I'm learning that my coworker (the one who didn't process payment for the flights which resulted in ALL our flights being cancelled) apparently didn't pay the balances on anything that was sent to her. So I get to spend the next several hours calling every single venue, restaurant, speaker, etc. to confirm. Ah the joys. Hope everyone else has something more fun planned for today!

OMGosh!!! Is said coworker still working for your company? Hope not. Good luck on your endeavors. I know you're up to the task, but dang........

SIX more days of school (no I do not count today once the day has started) Can you tell I'm already "DONE"?!?

Have a great HUMPday!

Yup... she's still here... and still feels that she did absolutely nothing wrong. Sigh. I spent most of yesterday reconfirming everything, so I was able to sleep better last night. I still have ONE restaurant that hasn't responded, but I hope to track them down today. It's crazy the amount of planning and the details to take a youth group. With adults, I just need to set up the events and provide a hotel room block. With kids, I need to set up the events, assign roommates, pre-order every meal, understand everyone's food allergies and medical histories, get copies of insurance cards, assign bed checks, order matching shirts for each day, etc... Hubby has already booked me a vacation after my second youth program in July. LOL! He's a keeper!

To make things more challenging, I'm fighting a horrible sinus infection and really should be home in bed. I lost my voice on Saturday and I still can't talk! LOL! Luckily, I'm able to handle the majority of issues via email. I have 10 days to get my voice back before I lead the tour.

Hello Ladies!
breoni... That is one of the reason I decided to retire, I had so many younger co-workers that didn't want to work, they were just there for the paycheck, and the sad things is the residents paid the price for their work ethics, I worked in nursing homes and hospitals... and it broke my heart to see people mistreated. And reporting things did not help. They need the workers so bad that they let it go on. But then if something major happens, then they fire the person. Very sad that companies wait until the bad happens before someone gets in trouble. They have rules and regulations to prevent the bad from happening for a reason. But anyway all that said sorry you have to deal with issues from your co-worker.
I have been taking it easy the last few days because of the pain in my shoulder, it has lessen some. I hope to work on a couple challenges today and get those done earlier in the month. I was just going through the gallery and spotted some sweet layouts that popped out at me. I love looking at other layouts, it helps spark some new inspiration...
Hope you all have a beautiful day!:)

*waves Hi to everyone*

I've decided that my volunteer days, Tuesdays, are going to be basically do-nothing days. I'm just so tired after I get home from my shift. I nap, but it's not enough, and then it's late by the time I get around to homework, etc. Besides that, I'm doing great! My birthday's tomorrow and Eren and BF are coming over. We were over there last night delivering food and helping clean the kitchen. Eren's BF spilled hot oi all over himself Monday and was in the ER for 14 hours. He's got second degree burns and can't walk much. Poor guy! I just hope he follows doctor's orders so he can get himself better soon.

Shana, you get better soon too! I'm sorry you had to re-confirm everything for the trip. That coworker needs some discipline, IMHO.

Alta, sorry your shoulder hurts so much. That must feel awful! (((HUGS)))

Happy June and hello to all!
Alta- Right there with you on the ear 'experiences'.... Oh, I get it!
Carla- good to know an IEP carries into college!

Update here.
Still on physical therapy and by golly is it helping me!!! I'm super happy. However I reckon I will be doing all these stretches for life. I seriously do NOT want another back surgery. I also use Vitality Extract oil [found on FB ] and YES they work.

I still cannot attend baseball games after the passing out - Florida heat, and the head injury. [grrr]

Sarah's dance recital is this coming up Sunday. I am making the cutest little 'gift' for her to give to her friends. [I will scrap it, as not sure how to add only a photo here]. The idea was given to me by ScrapChat Designs- my friend Jillian. Both my daughter and S LOVE it. So working on that.

I think I am catching onto the new formats here.

Have a fabulous day. Stay safe.

School is finally out for the Summer which means I have about 6 weeks where I get to indulge a bit on things to rejuvenate my soul before diving back into planning. My brain hasn't gotten the "it's Summer" memo yet but it's still early.

I've been able to play around in the forum a bit, crochet and cross-stitch a little, and enjoy taking care of my newest hobby - houseplants! I actually got started last summer with my houseplant journey and right now our house seems a bit more jungle-like since my husband and I both had to bring our school plants home.

Tomorrow I have to tackle cleaning and organizing my piano room. It got a bit out of hand during the school year and it's time to do a purge of some things too. Wish me luck!

My oldest daughter finally graduated from college in May and has moved to Arkansas where she's trying to find a teaching job. My middle child is navigating the world of figuring out what he really wants to do as a career. So far he's struggling a bit trying to find that entry level job in the technology field he thinks he's interested in. My youngest daughter has accelerated her Senior year by only needing one class to graduate and decided that she would take it this first Summer session and be done a whole year early. Unofficially she should be done in about 3 weeks. Officially she will graduate August 1st. Then we have to navigate helping her get into college in a non-traditional route. Hopefully she'll get a part-time job and be able to take some of the general/basic classes offered by the Jr. college connected to our school district and transfer them in the Fall of 2026 to the college she wants to attend.

I think that pretty much is where my life is at the moment. I look forward to getting back in touch with all of you. It seems like I have seasons of being around, Summer, Fall break, Winter Break, and if I'm lucky Spring Break. Now that all my kids are done with High School extra-curricular activities maybe I'll regain some of my weekends. I know I'm going to miss this season of life but I'm looking forward to seeing what this new season is going to be like!

Happy Thursday. School is out here as of May 30. I had PT today. It's helping. Still working of the recital gift for g'daughter to give to her friends. Also just received recital costume photos of her taken by one of her friends mom...who is amazing!
Have an awesome day.

Shana! I can't believe a company would keep someone on who didn't process a payment that resulted in cancelled flights for a student tour and now hasn't paid the balances for anything else that was sent to her?!? What the heck has she done in her job that makes it worth keeping her? Good Lord!

Alta, I'm so sorry about your shoulder.

Happy Birthday Ane! Hope you're having fun!

Good luck with PT and everything else this summer Michi.

Oh gosh, Susan... to be done with school. I can't wait. Congrats to your college grad and woah to the senior. One class for senior year, that's pretty impressive.

I'm just working hard and counting down to our year-end. FIVE more days.

Saturday I'm going to be playing inside all day with paper, glue, scissors and stamps. Just a single day card event about 20 minutes from home. Very excited.

Love and Blessings
Carla, in MN

Well, I probably would have had a great birthday if I hadn’t ended up in the ER. Here’s the story: 2 nights ago I woke up at 3 am. I sat up and my world swooped to the left. I tried walking straight but kept angling left. I was dizzy and banged into the bathroom doorway with my head. Luckily I made it back to bed ok. The next day I was still dizzy and swooping a little, so I signed up to visit urgent care in the morning. After an exam, the urgent care team sent me to the ER for possible stroke. They admitted me for overnight observation. So far I’ve had a CT scan, an echocardiogram, and an MRI. I guess we’ll find out all the stuff tomorrow. I’m tired and can’t leave the bed without help, but ok. If you feel inclined, please send positive vibes my way. TIA!

Oh my, Ane! I hope they figure out what is going on for you.

Carla - I'm sending you positive thoughts that the next 5 school days will go by quick. That card making event sounds like a lot of fun!

I have had a couple of extra blood draws in the past week. What was meant to be a routine check-up to get my medications reordered and my A1C checked to make sure everything was still going in the right direction has turned into going down the rabbit hole. They aren't sure why my blood is thicker than normal nor why some of the numbers are slightly elevated. On a positive note, my A1C is holding at right at the top of normal (which for having type 2 diabetes is a good thing), one of my other tests came back clear so that knocked out one worry, and I'm down about 50 lbs from where we started two years ago. I'll take the wins and I'm trying not to worry about the other.
