One of the wonderful things about GingerScraps is the camaraderie that we have here. In this thread, we are working on getting to know each other better and learning a little more about what is going on in each other's lives.

What's going on in YOUR life !

Hi everyone, Lynnie (formbygirl) usually starts this thread, but she is swamped juggling a million different things as only Lynnie can do without totally crashing. She's also dealing with some pretty emotional pain right now too. When you have a minute just send up a little prayer for her and a :bighug: She is an amazingly strong woman, but I think even the Energizer Bunny needs new batteries once in awhile.

Hugs and love to you Lynnie - I hope things are getting better!!! You are loved!!!!!

My update:

Homeschool 10th grade starts next week - pray for us!
My MIL is getting worse with her Alzheimer's and we are visiting homes for when that time comes. :cry2

I am going to be teaching a "Salvation History" class at our church and I'm very nervous. It starts a week from tomorrow and I still don't have the lesson plans from the Youth Ministry Director yet!

I knew I was missing something this month! (((HUGS))) to Lynnie!!!

It's just been kind of a normal weekend for us here, albeit an extended one. Hubby took the day off Friday, so we went to a movie. We haven't really done anything remarkable for the holiday and probably won't. It's nice to have downtime, especially for the busy weekend we have coming up! :)

Thanks, All. I will post a longer thread on what is going on, but having some rough times right now with grandson and desperately missing his father (both he and I are missing him!).

Also preparing for my niece's wedding, my mother's 90th birthday!

AND the who nature of my job changed, for the better, but it is overwhelmingly busy.

And drove my grandson to Arizona two weeks ago, then drove 120 miles up the coast for the weekend to try to relax a little. No computer.

Loads of love to all :)

Hugs to you Lynnie! I must say, you're a very strong woman!

We spent our long weekend visiting some national and historic parks, having our passports stamped. Since we're new to the state, we're exploring around and we enjoyed the trek and the hike. I'm so proud of my DH because she didn't hesitate to climb the Linn Cove viaduct on Sunday to think it was rocky, muddy and slippery. As long as she won't see any bugs that is! She gets really excited whenever we will have our passports stamped.

Super {{HUGS}} to you Lynnie... sending love and prayers...♥

Me... well school season has officially started for all 3 kidlets. Well, the oldest kidlet is away at college, but I think they will always need their mommy for something, lol. The high school kidlet is busy again with her volleyball- that means driving all over and games all over. The youngest kidlet is in 7th grade and back to bball, although he was playing with a travel team all summer as well. Add to that Team mom for bball and Room parent for 7th grade. *sigh* back to the grind!

Good luck with 10th grade, my daughter is also in 10th, but lucky for her (that I don't kill her), I don't have to teach her. I applaud you for the patience! {{HUGS}} to MIL.. ♥

Downtime is the best time Ane! Enjoy it...it's rare nowadays, lol.. ♥

You are never one to slow down that's for sure! Wait... up the coast, do you mean our West Coast? Did you reach SF?

Take care Lynnie, sending love and prayers...xoxo..♥

Congrats on your move! Where did you get stamped? How exciting! My dream is to have my passport book full of stamps, that would be really neat!

Might be my first time chiming in here. Hugs to Lynnie- even though I don't know much about you I can tell you are a wonderful person based on the comments here. We are recently back from a week on Mackinac Island with our 4 grandsons. It was so much fun but of course exhausting. We've been doing it for several years now and I hope to continue the tradition for as long as I am able or they lose interest.
I've been retired for a little over 4 years now and I love it! I spend time with my grandchildren and pursue my hobbies. What could be better.

Hi all! I,m on my ipad,so please excuse any misspellings! My computer is getting charged, just changed the battery, so dh suggested letting it get a full charge before I use it, so here I sit with a freshly downloaded kit on the computer, and I can,t use it! Dh is going to be helping my ddil with a few homeschooling classes for our 9 year old grandson starting tomorrow. They should have a good time! He is going to be teaching piano and computer programming. He taught two of the others keyboard, and one of them programming. They had fun!

Everyone must be enjoying the festivities! I wish I could, but my computer is on the fritz and I don't know when I'll get it back. :( so I've been working on the only thing I could with my iPad- the scavenger hunt! It's taken me 4 days but I finally found everything and I'm going over to submit my answers, woo hoo!

Thank you :) So far we have the Linn Cove Viaduct, Blue Ridge Parkway, Congaree National Park and Clingmans COve here in NC and SC. True, I would love for that to happen too!

Congrats! Everytime I do the scavenger hunt, my wish list gets longer, lol...

I've been busy here. I'm on a roll with our Italy picture. So many more to go, but I'm totally inspired right now and just want to keep scrapping. The kids are in full swing with school and activities. This means more pictures, haha! Neverending...♥♥

I haven't been around much this month. My son started back to school, grade ten this year, and as usual it's difficult for him.

My daughter is still recovering from a couple cardiac surgeries in June, she is having severe nerve pain, and nothing is helping.

My surgery to replace my icd (defibrillator) is in October.

And my daughter got word on Friday that her wish from make a wish has been granted. We will be in New York City October 2-6 where her wish will be granted. (It's confidential)

its been crazy here.

OH Sherri... sending you great big {{HUGS}} and prayers for strength for you and your whole family. xoxo♥♥♥

Oh Sherri, :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm sorry to hear Ashley is still struggling with pain, I was hoping Mayo would have been able to find an answer to that. I'm sorry your son is struggling in school, that is so hard on all of you. HOORAY for for the wish coming true!! CAN'T WAIT to see the layouts!!!

Hello Ladies, I am trying to be more active in the forum. I have had a rough few weeks, but getting back on track. My son is in the Army and was away in Germany, so I have been helping my daughter-in-law with the kids, dogs, and helping where I can. She also works full time, so she needed some help. Which I don't mind, love time with the grandkids.
I can't believe this weather, so much rain this whole summer, we didn't have to many good days for being outside. Hope we have a mild winter, and a better summer next year. Hope all of you were safe if you were near the hurricane...
Looking forward to being active and getting to know some of you better... Have a GREAT DAY!

Struggling still with daughter taking 7 year old granddaughter with her out of country to Thailand and Cambodia and Bali and Mexico and ?? ... being told they will return in Nov and put granddaughter in school (she is smart but it will be a challenge to catch up!) We worry and worry and worry like any grandparents would but esp. since we had granddaughter living with us for last 3 years. prayers for their safe return would be most welcome.

I am not even going to try to answer everything in here at present, but I have read through. Prayers for those who need them and thanks for all the news.

I am perpetually busy - I have had to accept that it is just the way I am. August was filled with my daughter moving back from Nashville, my niece's wedding shower, heading to Arizona with my grandson Mark and then back to California for a weekend with my brother's girlfriend planning my nieces's wedding. September has been ALL about Madi's wedding.

In between everything, I have church, church leadership, church coffee shop, my husband's play (think costumes!), my Village Memory Makers scrapping club and a number of concerts.

The rest of September, I have a concert, a play, a pub night, a charity sewing circle, and a visit from my sister-in-law whom I have not seen in forever. October is all about my mother's birthday party.

Before anyone feels bad for me, please have no sympathy. I bring it on myself. Not only could I say no to anything if I wanted, BUT, tons of the things I do are my own idea. I truly need a safety net on my brain and my mouth! And I love everything I do (except maybe working, haha) but I do struggle to fit it all in.

I scrapped over 400 layouts for my nieces wedding. I do mini layouts that I use on slides. They turn out so sweet. However, I typically don't track credits on these, so it is really not fair to post any of them. I might post a montage of them in the hybrid section if I get time. I love putting these videos together, but they are very time-consuming. It was over 30 hours, probably closer to 40 hours of work to get it done. It is really special though and I am so happy to do it.

Anyway, I still have a busy month ahead, but I can fit more 'me' time in, here at GS! I can't believe I actually MISSED the birthday sales. I should have had my niece move the wedding date haha.

Take care Anita! But wow...what an adventure for their family!! Prayers that they stay safe and your granddaughter will adjust easily...♥

Hey everyone. Busy month for everyone! Prayers to those that need them. Life is rough sometimes.

We are heading out tomorrow to go down to see the grands in Arizona. I am so looking forward to some Nana and Papa time with the 10, 4 and 18 month old. Haven't seen them since late last year so it has been way too long. I have been working on some "quiet" games for the 4 year old. I will post pictures in the hybrids section later on. For now I just have to get it all finished while we drive. :)

See you all in October. Hopefully I will have lots of pictures and a heartful of snuggles and loves to keep me happy until the next time we can make it down there.

Sounds like a wonderful time, Heidi!

Hi everyone! Been reading through all posts and my thoughts and hugs goes out to all that need it right now. <3

I've been sick for over a week with a bad cold starting last Thursday and today was first day back at work again. I have soooo much catching up to do now at work (I work as a teacher) - can't believe so much was happening during a week's absence.

I am SO grateful its Friday and that I feel better.

Oh, and there was a mini bat sleeping over the entrance door to our classroom - so cute!

What's everyone got planned for the weekend? I think we're going to make applesauce tonight. Tomorrow we'll take it easy, with just an extra church meeting then Sunday will be church as usual. So a nice, casual weekend for us here in the middle of the country. Even temperatures are cooling off a bit- my a/c has taken several breaks today (my wallet loves that!). :)

I am glad you are feeling better - I hope MUCH better. How rough to start out school feeling poorly.

Mini-bat.... I remember going to church when I was little and being fascinated by the bats in the rafters. I totally paid no attention in church. I wasn't sure whether to be terrified or fascinated and decided being fascinated was more fun.

I am still recovering from my niece's wedding. I started my weekend on Thursday and did absolutely NOTHING that day. I did not even take off my pajamas. I am off Friday and was tempted to do the same thing, but I got up and went to Weight Watchers, then washed my car, went to the dentist and then got a massage - and that was just the morning! The massage was at a place where no one speaks English and they are dirt cheap. I had a 90 minute massage, which I needed. I got home and cooked dinner - testing cooking in my new Instant Pot. I made rice and Italian chicken breasts. It turned out really well. Then I took a nap.

Saturday, I have my scrapbooking club, then meeting up with a friend for lunch, followed by an evening concert.

Sunday, I have church. Following church, we are spending time with my sister-in-law who is visiting from North Carolina. I have not seen her in quite some time, so that will be nice. My husband has not seen her in 10 years. I saw her once since then. We are in touch on Facebook. It will be nice to see her.

In October, we have my mother's 90th birthday party. I am working on that already. I love doing all these things, but I do get tired sometimes.

Hubby is down with the flu and I end up with going to a hockey match (premier league) with my (grown-up) son AND eating out today - so win for me! :D

Tomorrow I am planning to do some sewing but I also have work to do...
