Everyday Chatting and Waffling - OCTOBER Let's get to know each other more!

Sugar Cookie : GingerScraps Praise
October is going to be another busy month for me... I detect a pattern.

What is going on in YOUR life :)

I just connected back with GingerScraps over the weekend and see a LOT more scrapping in my future! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the challenges. They are so varied and there are so many.

My husband and I are traveling to WI next week to visit my sister and her family. We just vacationed with them in Aug, but this time we'll just hang at their house and take advantage of the multiple Fall Festivals around central Wisconsin. I look forward to hanging with my 14 year old niece too . . .

Other than that, work in the garden to get 60 tulip bulbs planted.

My DIL and grandkids are moving out of state late October, so I'll try and cram in extra time with their sweet faces too.

First of the month is a good time to poke my head in here, right?

I'm trying to get back into scrapping so I can process my photos from our trip to Disneyland this summer. I just completed one and put it in my gallery, so hopefully that will become a habit. It's nothing fancy, but sometimes simplicity works best!

How are you all?

I'm still applying for jobs after graduating college in June, so hopefully someone will want me soon! I will be taking my credential exam this month and another one next month...they are stressing me out!

where all in Wisconsin are you going to be? I live in Wausau - right in the middle of the state.

Not much new going on with me - just continuing to work through my school - but, I found out that they re-evaluated transfer credits, and 4 of the classes I had yet to take they are now taking as transfer!!! That means I may very well graduate by next summer, that is motivation enough for me to keep working faster and faster to make sure I am done by then.

Glad to hear from you. It was lovely meeting you and I can't wait to see more of the Disney layouts in the galleries.

I'm so HAPPY it's already Fall! The weather is more tolerable now, getting golder and not too hot anymore. We just had our first camping this year last weekend and we're really glad we waited. We first planned to do it before the school start but it was too hot to camp and do bonfire so last weekend was the best time for us. Disconnect and reconnect. My daughter had fun playing by the stream and all around the campground, and at the same time it was a moment of leaning about the nature in two days.

I love camping - although we have not gone in some time. There is something about being away from everything and grounding yourself in nature that just makes you breathe easier for a time. I am so glad she enjoyed herself.

And I am so glad it is fall, it has been such a hot summer.

Hi, glad your back, I agree the have a lot of challenges, I need to do more of those, not enough scrapping hours in the day... LOL ... I have a Sister that just moved to Horocon WI, futher away :( but her daughter lives there... Have a great time on your visit, it's very pretty there, but to cold for me... LOL

Today I had second round of trial injections in my back to see if they help with the pain and if today is yes, next week I could get a 12-18 month respite when they go in and kill the nerves. Yes, after 16 years of debilitating back pain I'm excited about that too. I am TIRED of pain trying to limit me!

I am getting two new knees for Halloween! Yes, 2, yes, both at the same time! YES, I am ready!!

Oh my - 2 knees at once!!!! I had a partial knee replacement last November, and (not to scare you) am still in horrible pain. I was on a prescription anti-inflammatory medicine (like Advil/Aleve but stronger) which made the pain bearable, but that screwed up my GI tract, which I'm now dealing with so can no longer take that. Good luck with your surgery - work hard in PT, do your exercises, stay on top of your pain meds, and take pain medication before PT so you can work harder.

Just skipping by quickly to say G'Day to everyone
Hope you are all doing well. I am still coming down after the trip of a lifetime. First overseas trip ever & we got to fly in style with a bunch of friends in a private jet to Tonga via Fiji. We stopped for 2 hours in Fiji for lunch & saw a few sights between the airport & the Marina where we had lunch & then went on to Tonga where we fell in love with the lovely people & delicious food & the laid back lifestyle of the south pacific. We were all lucky to tick off a bucket list item of swimming with Humpback whales while were there but after a whirlwind 5 days we had to come back to reality & work & now I have the task of documenting our journey in a photobook. I have about 15 pages done but waiting on the rest of the group to get their photos to me so I can include them in a copy for our wonderful friend that organised the whole trip.

I've had a busy few weeks leading up to the trip so haven't really scrapped but have a few days up my sleeve to get this done & order some stubby coolers to also commemorate our trip. Fingers crossed i can get this all done
take care all Sam

It was 83 and HUMID yesterday, storms and high winds last night. When I got up this morning it was 38! Never dull in Minnesota, different day-different season :)

Hello everyone!
Jeanne glad the shots helped, will be praying that your surgery goes well on your knees. Pain is no fun, and the people who have to deal with it everyday, I just don't see how they do it. I remember my mother saying she wished God would just take her home, so she would be pain free... She was sick for a long time. She also had arthritis really bad, and she would have us rub her down with WD40, and she says it worked so well, she didn't care if she smelled....

Sam's Scraps sounds like you had a great time... Hope to see some pictures from your trip soon...

It's been pretty good here, but I'm so tired of all the rain... My daughter lives a couple hour from here, and she has been stuck at home so much over the last 3 or 4 months, because the water was up so high they couldn't get out, thankful her house is up high enough they never get it up there, but being stuck with out a way out I worry sometimes if some medical emergency happens and she can't get out... She says not to worry, but mothers worry... The weather has been crazy everywhere it seems.
You all have a great day, and I will be back soon, love reading your posts... later... :)

Kim - I will be staying in Burnett, a tiny-tiny town just outside Beaver Dam, about 30-40 minutes from Madison.

Wouldn't it be lovely if you and Kim were really close and could get together.

Just skipping by quickly to say G'Day to everyone

Sam, that sounds amazing. My niece is on the trip of a lifetime in Thailand. It is her honeymoon and I am amazed at how fabulous it has been. I am so jealous of you both. How lucky they are that you are documenting it in a photobook. You can do this!!

Hope you have a great trip!! It's a beautiful time of year here.

Are you close to her?

As evidenced by your siggie - never the same, never dull! I am really praying that the surgery will work miracles for you. I am so sure it will and I am really looking forward to hearing about you running around getting into all kinds of trouble. I have a friend who had a knee replacement and it changed her life in such an amazing way.

WD40!! Wow, that is a new one. I looked it up and read so many interesting stories on it.

We had a drop of rain the other day. Just one drop. My dog turned around and went back inside, she would not pee! I had to carry an umbrella over her before she would. Not over me, mind, over her!

Wow, look at what everyone is doing! My life is not so exciting, but it has it moments. :) Had an interesting day picking up my prescriptions at the Air Force base pharmacy where I go. They were out of 1 drug and couldn't order more because they don't have the funding. Luckily that's not a critical med, but oh, I had to wait about 2 hours to get my grubby mitts on my prescriptions, sigh. Luckily I have a great weekend coming up and I can chill with my family.

that sounds like something right off of my bucket list, glad you had a fab time

Hello Everyone! It's a beautiful day here today! We have had so much raining weather here it seems all summer long... so hoping we have a few weeks of cool weather before the snow starts... Been spending more time outside today with the dogs, they love it. Hope to get some scrapping done today also, and I will probabaly be spending some money at Gingerscraps, was looking at all the new stuff... LOL I need to get some challenges done too... busy busy busy ttyl have a GREAT WEEKEND LADIES!

My mother's 90th birthday is coming up and I am frantically scrapping little layouts, which I string together in a video. The video will be about 45 minutes long and just run in a loop during her party. To put it in perspective, it is about 800 mini-layouts. I am also creating photo boards and, hopefully, a book! I am REALLY running myself ragged getting all this done. Not to mention, I haven't even thought about the food! EEK. We are making shepherd's pie and sausage rolls. I have to say though, I am almost ready to get it catered I am so far behind. So wish me luck.

Sounds as though everyone is really busy:

Ane, glad you crossed the prescription adventure off your bucket list :)

Sherri, Keep us posted on the surgery.

Alta, you sound so bright and cheery all the time - such a pleasure.

Hello Scrap Lovers... And Thank you Lynnie... I try to stay happy and positive, but I do have bad days every now and then. Some days I want to scream, and I have had a few where I could cry all day... But life goes on and I try to do my best. Being back home and close to my children and grandchildren has helped in so many ways, I really missed seeing them everyday. But I do miss my sister, we are very close, and we had coffee everyday together, so I miss that... I am meeting a few neighbors here and making new friends that also helps. I hope you are all having a great Monday! Lynnie you make me tired just reading all that your doing for your mother, she must be proud having you for a daughter. Hope to see a couple pictures of her from the party.... Ok Ladies you all have a great evening... I'll be back! :hi

October is a crazy month - our home school group starts the field trip season, our anniversary is in October, and school is in full swing. I am just doing my best to keep on schedule and hope for the best!

Actually, reading everything I do makes me tired too. Rest assured that I am not a busy, efficient little bee. My house needs attention, my dog does not get enough walks, my husband (bless him) is neglected, I binge watch TV while I am on my computer... it gets worse :) I will DEFINITELY post pictures from the party and may post some layouts I have done for the video. The ones for the video just won't have credits, sadly, because I have been scrapping them too rapidly to care...

Somehow or another, I missed the fact that you home school! How wonderful. My best friend home schooled her children and I admire all the wonderful things she did with them. I would come over one day and everything in her world was labeled in French. Another day she would add a huge history timeline around the walls of the room and it was labeled with the years and major historical periods . They filled each one in as they studied with with pictures and beans and heaven knows what else. Art projects, math projects, all fun and fabulous. My kids LOVED visiting her house. I did, too :)

Well it's another beautiful day here, but the weather forecast says more rain tonight... :cryhard But I will enjoy what we are blessed with... My granddaughter dropped my daughter-in-laws laptop and broke it last night, bless her heart, she felt so bad, her dad said he can probably fix it, and finally got her cheered up... nice to have a computer tech in the family, and I have 2... So at least I don't have to bug one for help when I have issues with mine... LOL I had coffee outside this morning and let the dogs enjoy some time outside... I just love this time of year, I hope it's a good while before we start getting snow... But I know the grandchildren are looking forward to snow... You all have a great day, I'm going to work on some scrapping... First another cup of coffee... LOL ttyl... :hi
