Easter

Do you have any special Easter traditions?
Our family never really did much other than dyeing and hunting for eggs after the Easter Bunny hid them and going to church. My boys are 14 & 15 now...they still want to dye eggs but don't want to hunt for them.

Easter is a big deal in our family... This year we are jammed packed! We have a special Good Friday service at Church, then Saturday we have our Easter Egg Hunt at Church, then we'll come home and do ours here (Thankfully the boys got some Star Wars eggs this year so no dying... Which is great because I'm not sure we will have time!) Then Sunday morning we have SONrise service, then breakfast, Sunday School, and regular Service before going out to my cousins place for a mini-family reunion and lunch!
Then we'll come home and crash before starting the week all over again! ;)

We carry on my husband's family tradition of building a "bunny nest" in the backyard for the bunny to fill. It basically looks like a big bird nest. We are going to have to get creative this year as we now live in a suburb with no leaves or moss readily available in our yard so DH will be going on the hunt to bag some and bring it home...lol

I love that I am not limited to small candy items that fit in a typical size Easter Basket.

Here's an old LO with a retired product. The center photo is her Bunny nest with a scooter in it.

I love Easter more than any other holiday, but it seems so early this year. I guess the cold weather here doesn't help. We decorate our house for Easter every year (this year we are so late with everyone being sick; we only started decorating yesterday), and I usually make Easter cut out cookies, and a few new wreaths or other Easter crafts, but we havent done any of that yet. We make up Easter baskets, hide the eggs, and make a huge dinner with ham, pineapple stuffing (SOO good!), sweet potatoes, rolls, and one or two more veggies. I think it will just be the 5 of us this year; which is kind of say because our whole family used to get together, but since my grandmother passed, it happens less and less.

That sounds like a lot of fun, Stephie! Have a fabulous Easter weekend!!

What a fun idea, Amanda! I've never heard of that before. I hope you're able to find all the supplies you need!

That sounds fantastic, Lynn! I hope everyone is feeling better and you're able to enjoy the day!

So many great Easter traditions!!
I love building a bunny nest, that is so cute!!
We usually do a lot of playing outside .... My son and I have been working on the yard non-stop! We just got it finished yesterday and went the bought a new badminton set. The net is all set up and ready :)

I love the bunny nest idea! How adorable. Love your LO Amanda.
I used to decorate a lot, but not this year.
We will go to church in the morning- 7:30am and then have DD, SIL and DGS over tomorrow for an Easter dinner. Have an egg hunt [plastic eggs] for the little one and dye some real ones that will remain refrigerated.

After all, I need photos!

We don't give the little one candy but he will have some 'blue fruit' [Welch's mixed fruit snack packs] along with other goodies [sidewalk chalk, bubbles, books and an outfit].

My son was more interested in throwing the eggs back into the garden after he found them then actually finding the few we hid. This year we are going to a family celebration and he might get the hang of it with other kids.

We usually go to church and hunt for the Easter basket and eggs. This year we were invited by our neighbors for lunch so we'll add that this time. =) Sometimes we have gone out for a fancy brunch somewhere, but they have become too expensive. My daughter is 9 and still loves to play "hide and seek" over and over with the eggs!
