Do you use emojis?

So I am curious... am I the only person who receives texts from their children that only contain emojis? Our daughter is now 22, and there are times I feel like I'm reading hieroglyphics! HA!

I was told by one of the students leaders from my annual youth programs (most of the kids are around age 17) that text messages without emojis were too "aggressive." Apparently, texts written in full and proper sentence structure can also be considered aggressive. Who knew? So now I try to include emojis to help convey a specific tone.

How often do you use emojis in your texts and/or emails? What emoji do you use most often?

Ive learned that you even have to be careful what emojis you use as many of them have other connotations *eek*. I use them a lot in text messages, they are fun and one little carefully chosen emoji can say so much!! I use the kissy huggy ones a lot for my family but I do have fun with others...such as shock, crazy, confused, illness, weather etc. I dont usually get emoji only messages except at the end of conversations

Oh Jill, you're so right... some of those emojis do NOT mean what I thought that they meant! LOL!!!

My teens taught me well. Use emojis to denote tone. I think knowing your audience is essential though. If I was still in workforce I would not be.
