Do you have any fun New Year's goals?

I'm not talking about the typical lose weight, be more organized type of goals. I'm wondering if anyone has set FUN goals to achieve this year. Maybe go on a trip? Maybe learn a new skill? Maybe just try to dance more often? I'd love to hear about the positive things you plan to strive for in 2024!

And I'd like to share this quote from one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman:
I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.

So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.

Hey Shana!

I only made 1 goal this year, and that is to read 50 books. And keep up all the things I started to improve myself over the last couple of years. :)

Ane, that's a great goal! I read 36 books in 2022, so I gave myself a goal to read 40 books in 2023. But I missed it by 5... I read 35 books and 11,951 pages (thankfully Goodreads tracks all that)!

I just retired so I have a lot more free time to make achievable goals.
1. I have been lurking this coloring group on FB for some time now and finally joined with a free coloring class. I hope to improve my coloring skills to use as card fronts, I craft doll cards.
2. I joined a 55+ cycling, hiking, skiing group in my community and we have been going out getting active together for 2 months now. I really like the companionship as it is not always safe to be out walking on trails by yourself these days.
3. I want to read more as I have a few books given to me that I have yet to read but I usually listen to audio books on the treadmill, keeps my mind busy.

Thanks for asking! :)

Karen, I'm intrigued to know more about your coloring group. And what are doll cards? Cards sized for dolls or cards featuring dolls?

I have a scrapping goal this year! I want to attempt to do a 365 album. I have been digital scrapping for soooo long and I have never done a 365 album. Hoping I can do it this year!
I just finished week one tonight

Does anyone else have scrapping goals?

Over the weekend, I finally finished my 2023 scrapbook album (now it's waiting in the Shutterfly cart until they have a good sale). My goal in the next couple of months is to get our 2023 vacation album done. It's more than halfway, but I still have a lot of work to do! However, it's fun work. I love being able to relive our vacation, especially when the photos are from warm days and it's snowy outside as I'm looking at them!

I have the hardest time scrapping vacations because I take sooo many photos! lol
Maybe that will be a secondary goal of mine too :)

For the last six years, life has been stressful with lots of upheavals and loss. We have moved to a new home, in a new province and my goal now is to learn how to live my retired life the way I want to. I want to read, scrap, cook more, exercise, hike with the dogs and go on photo walks, then spend evenings with my hubs as we binge some shows. I want to learn how to relax (and not feel guilty about it). I also plan to get myself and hubs out more to socialize (the first outing is this Thurs at a neighborhood pub with some members from our local FB group).
