Do you feel guilty?

I know I've only been a member of this place for less than a week, but everyone has been so nice and tonight I found myself feeling guilty for needing to buy a kit from a different site! Though I did look here first! :sly
 
Hahaha - I used to go to several different stores online, but since I've found GS I've stuck to this one. I actually felt a twinge when I used an older kit from somewhere else the other day :P
 
To keep myself sane, I've only bought from GS in the last few months since I restarted digiscrapping. I still have stuff from other stores but I don't use it, LOL! :D
 
Ahhhh...I have a stock pile of stuff from other stores and designers and there's no need to feel guilty. I always check here first too though :)
 
I definitely have the same problem, although I do use bits and pieces. I tend to not post layouts that use all products from elsewhere. I have a huge stash from Digital Scrapbook Place, which went out of business some years back. I do quite a bit of scrapping that I don't post, mostly from DSP. I have a pretty big stash from GS now and I use that, mostly here.

Having said that, I see so many of our own GingerScrappers are very comfortable posting with kits they have purchased elsewhere. I know Ginger is very generous and does not mind at all when her scrappers use their stashes. I do buy mostly from here now. I am pretty loyal once I find a site That is a mostly, though, and not completely.

I love this site and the friendships I am building here.... I know that I can use whatever I own and it will be okay.
 
I have a stockpile from others stores from before I quit scrapping but only buy from GS now, saves me accidentally posting a layout in the wrong place.

There are tons of great products out there by lots and lots of great designers, if I could have them all sell at GS I would but that would get a bit too crowded. :)

This place is evil. I just had to buy a kit to enter a challenge because all my appropriate supplies were bought from other sites!

You really can use the supplies without guilt. We have members of the Creative Team who use products from other sites. It is always nice if you mix with GS stuff, but you don't even have to do that. Ginger has an amazing open policy - if CTs from other sites can post and get comments, then our members are even more blessed to do so. We buy from here now, but we do have supplies from other places. As long as we are not acting as an advertisement for other places, we are more than welcome to use and credit other sites.

It's like having an old boyfriend. You are going to use everything you bought together, even if you aren't dating him any more!
 
One thing I have noticed is that GS is less expensive than some other sites. I just bought a kit elsewhere for $7 that would have cost about $5 here and have more items in it.
 
I think GS is very reasonable in prices, has great designers and very good value for the money. I have bought a few (very few) kits from other places since I have been here, but they were very few and they were more artsy, for art journaling. There are not tons of that style here. If I can find it here, I buy it here. The camaraderie and lack of drama here is the other endearing factor. It is a pretty awesome site...

Just went shopping to buy stuff I need for something today that I will never need again - Sometimes I wonder at myself.... Was it really necessary?

I had the same problem tonight when I couldn't find lettering that matched my layout. Even the one that came with the kit didn't look right. In the end I made do and talked myself out of just buying an alphabet. It was a close call though!

I'm Catholic, I was born and raised with guilt :smiley-vault-signs-:D I do enough damage here, I don't shop anywhere else anymore. Ok, I have to confess, I did shop somewhere else for a template after a guest designer left. See what I mean about guilt??:36_1_32:
 
True! And GS is so generous. I do have so many things from before I joined, but even those I used in a limited capacity.
