Ok, I know there are at least a few of you in here... do you LOVE Disneyland? I know I sure do!
I am going in 11 days and I would love to hear what YOUR favorites are?
Favorite ride, snack, sit down restaurant, hotel, show, secret spot?

I have been quite a fanatic over the last year, this will be my 4th trip in the last 13 months! But it seems like every time I go I still find things I have not tried or fun little spots etc.
Tell me your favorites or must haves for Disneyland :)

The castle is boarded up right now and there are no fireworks - just so you are not disappointed :)

I am crazy about Disneyland and had a pass for years and years. I don't have a pass now, and I miss it.

I love eating at the Jolly Holiday. They have a lovely grilled cheese sandwich with Tomato Basil soup :)

My favourite ride is Storybookland.

When I get hot or tired, I sit for a while in Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln (which makes me cry), or take the train ride around the park.

A wonderful vantage point for pictures is from the Treehouse and it is not that hard to climb.

Gibson Girls has fabulous ice cream.

Download the Disney app to monitor ride wait times.

Did you know that the little folks who wind the popcorn in the popcorn machines vary from land to land? the one by the Mark Twain has Davy Crockett, the one by the Matterhorn has a little Yeti and the one by the haunted house has a scary guy. Around Christmas they change that one out. The ones on Main Street have little Dapper Dans.

The Flag Ceremony on Main Street Makes me cry.

Did you know that the the Pirates of the Caribbean ride was once filled with REAL skeletons, yes, that is right! Now, only one human skull remains and that is over the on the headboard of the pirate in bed. Yes, folks, that is real and not an urban legend.

At one time, Disneyland had the 8th largest submarine fleet in the world. Anaheim (a landlocked city) had to write regulations regarding water-ways to accommodate Disneyland.

Hidden Mickeys are everywhere and they are so much fun to hunt down.

Look up and see the weather vanes. They are all over and they are wonderful.

This is the most beautiful Cinderella who ever lived:

The flag ceremony is between 4 and 5 and is where they do a lovely ceremony to take down the flag and honour the Veterans of the armed forces. They play the song for each of the forces and invite the vets forward. Then they play America the Beautiful and I cry my eyes out. I think everyone should see it at least once. I make sure I am there almost every time I go.

It sounds as though they are going to do a really amazing light show on the buildings to replace the fireworks. I have seen some of the things they have done with light shows. It is going to be pretty good. I loved the new Fantasmic also. You can get a fast pass to the early show of Fantasmic right when you get there. After Fantastic, you can stay in place and you will usually get to see the fireworks. I think you will see the light show there also. Ask one of the cast members when you get there.

I am a huge Disney fan :)

Enjoy your trip! I've got nothing to add--I've only been to Disney World twice, so I'm sure they are (almost) completely different parks.

Toontown is absolutely fabulous for pictures - especially if you are taking pictures of kids! Also, the little area to the left of the Castle where the Fantasy Faire is now held has some lovely little shows and is another great place for pictures. El Zocalo is a good place to eat, also.

One of my favorite things at DL is the little man of Disneyland. I love going to check out his little house just outside of Indiana Jones. At Christmas time, they put a little wreath on his door. He also has a little kids book that tells the story of him.

Secrets: You can get a free glass of water at any quick-serve food location. At the Golden Horseshoe in DL and the Paradise Grill at DCA, you can get a large one. Sometimes you have to ask for a large cup.

Inside of Starbucks in Downtown Disney (the one right next to World of Disney) where you can they have spigot to refill your water bottles. They also have one on the patio of the Rancho restaurant that Lynnie mentioned above.

Speaking of Starbucks, at either one inside both parks, it is the only one that you can get a cold cup (think ice tea), that has the disney design on them. I save them and bring them home (cheap souvenir). Often they will draw a Mickey head on them for you.

Even though the castle is in refurbishment right now, you can see the fireworks on the weekend with the new light show that Lynnie mentioned. The new Soundsational parade has a couple new floats. Also, right now until right after valentine's day, you can buy a map to go on a scavenger hunt around the park. When you bring your map back (even if you don't find them all or look for any of them), you get a free prize (another cheap souvenir).

My favorite shows are the Rapunzel show near where you can see the princesses and the Mickey show. At night, you don't even have to sit on the inside to see Rapunzel because it is so well lit, you can see it from the outside.

Often times, you can find random characters near the wishing well (the fairy Godmother, etc.)
Inside Fantasyland, right above the Snow White ride, you can see the Witch peering through the curtains every couple of minutes.

For Mickey's 90th birthday, there are a bunch of new treats and merchandise that are all purple. I personally love macarons, so I always have to try them out. The new ones that are in the shape of Mickey's hand are blueberry. Just this week, they released the characters on Main Street (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale) with their new Birthday outfits.

My favorite place to sit to just get quiet is two places 1. at the Hungry Bear restaurant at the top near the end of the patio, 2. right now just past Big Thunder Railroad at where the entrance to Star Wars Land will be. There are benches and you can listen to the recorded birds singing. It is really peaceful. I like to sit and people watch there. Speaking of people watching, there are rocking chairs on Main Street that you can sit on for as long as you want. It gets a little warm there in the afternoon, but it is a nice resting spot.

My husband loves the Mint Juleps that you can get by Pirates. The same place they sell the beignets.

If I think of anything else, I will let you know.

Yes, I live about an hour from DL. We go at least once a month. The little man is such a cool thing. Every time I check it out, people always say "What is she looking at?" They should really see for themselves. I love it! I am glad I was able to share it with others. He brings me JOY!

I live in Laguna Woods - not that far at all. I have a scrapbooking club 2nd Saturday of the month. Maybe you can come sometime :)
