Digital Programs

Hello,
I am currently using My Memories and I am happy with it.

But I am wondering about trying something new.
I want something that I can purchase with no monthly/yearly fees.
I am using a laptop or my desktop.

What are people using? and liking.

Has anyone tried and liked Artisan6 - it is expensive but would like to know if people think its worth it.

Thank you!

Photoshop by far is most popular for digital scrapbooking, but I have chosen to use the Affinity Suite which works great for me.
It is similar to Photoshop but more affordable from what I understand.

Affinity is a suite of 3 programs that are compatible with Windows, Mac and iPad. If you are only going to choose one then Photo is the best one to start with, but I now have all 3 programs which are all accessible through the Studio Link feature in the Affinity Publisher program.

I use Affinity too. They have a free trial and quite often have sales.
I have the universal licence that gives me the full suite for both laptop and iPad. I started with Photo originally, but found I was happier scrapping with Designer but I guess that depends how much photo editing you do. (Publisher hadn't been released when I started with it).

Thank you Kristi,
I will definitely have a look at it. It was not one that came up when I was searching, so I appreciate the information :)

Hello,
I am currently using My Memories and I am happy with it.

Same here. I really like the My Memories software, but I am becoming leary that it will become obsolete since they haven't updated it in forever. On the other hand, I have zero issues with how it is operating despite that. I have a version of PSE that I bought a few years ago, and is not an annual fee, but I have to admit it still doesn't feel intuitive for me. I use it for small tasks that I usually export and use in My Memories.

I use Photoshop daily for almost all GingerScraps work related projects.

However I fairly recently switched over to Affinity Photo on my iPad for my personal scrapping. I'm having so much fun!!
My sister just got an iPad so we can scrap together. I'm going to teach her and you can follow along online if you want!!
We are the DigiScrappingSisters everywhere, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube. We only have 1 video up so far but plan on doing it a lot and hopefully will put up a video at least every 2 weeks! We plan to have TikTok or Instagram Live "scrap with us" nights too :)
Definitely not a pro yet at affinity photo, I really only know the basics, but we can all learn together!

I hope you all come join us!!

I use photoshop even though i own My Memories 9, Affinity, Photoshop Elements, Luminar and iscraps. I have used photoshop since it was PS3 and I owned CS6 photo suite until I got my new Max 1 MacBook Pro 4T mad machine. Now I have to pay $9.99 a month for Photoshop, Light Room and a couple other programs. I was a professional photographer for over 25 years so i know photoshop like the back of my hand. It depends on what your computer level is. Once you learn Photoshop I feel it is most definitely more versatile and you can be more creative. I started this in the old days at the first of the century. I have used, Paint Shop Pro, Corel, and several I dont even remember the name of. I do know that alot of women are using Photoshop elements which is a one time purchase around $100. They say it is just like photoshop but doesnt have all the stuff you never use on Photoshop for scrapbooking. I think that would be your best bet and there are alot of You tube videos about scrapping with PE.

I have used photoshop since it was PS3 but have also used corel, paintshop pro, gimp & artrage. I really want to try affinity as then I could scrap while I am waiting at drs etc
Some of them still do free trials so maybe download & try before you buy :)

I started on Paint Shop, Corel and the Disney paint shop programs. Now I'm using Photoshop Elements and I'm happy with it.

I know, I panic a little with the program as well. That said, I was having an issue and I emailed them and they got back to me right a way. Fingers crossed the stay active for us :)

Tlhis is great news for me. I recently purchased a new computer Windows 11 (it's supposed to arrive tomorrow) and I already have an IPad. I was thinking about getting Affinity as I would be able to use it on both and keep up with challenges when I am away from home. I currently use Craft Artist Pro 2 which I love but it's no longer supported and can only be used on Windows.

I use My Memories, works for me as I can't be bothered to learn photoshop as I no one to help trouble shoot.

I use Photoshop and since I own a copy of CS I'll probably stick with it until it doesn't work anymore - which I hope NEVER happens :D

I use Paint Shop Pro and Gimp. Not expensive and free. For PSP tutorials, tips and tricks, you can visit Scrapbook Campus.

You might want to check when you open My Memories. It has not changed from version 9 since forever, but I have clicked on the check for updates and I think I've had 4 or 5 updates in the past year.

I have used ScrapbookMax since 2007, it has limits, but I have learned work arounds for almost everything I want to do. I love it, personally.
