Daily Routine during COVID?

I'm curious.

  1. Has your routine changed much during COVID?
  2. Do you stay home more and/or work from home?
  3. Go out shopping less?
  4. Are your wkend activities different?

  1. Has your routine changed much during COVID? I don't go to the casino (its closed and I wouldn't go anyway now), I stay away from the mall unless absolutely necessary. I miss the movie theater, we used to go once a month or so. We used to eat out in restaurants often but have only gone once during the pandemic.
  2. Do you stay home more and/or work from home? I definitely stay home more. I work from home so that hasn't changed but I stay home more, don't go out for recreational activities like I used to. I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me at all. I can amuse myself with reading, scrapping and tv/movie binge watching. I get out for walks with Taz for fresh air and go out into the garden every day for a bit.
  3. Go out shopping less? Yes. I think I've only been to the mall once or twice during the pandemic. If I need something I order from amazon. I didn't realize how much I used to shop until I stopped doing it and I realize I don't need to. That's a good thing b/c I just quit one of my clients so my paycheque is going to less now but we'll adjust to having less money, spending a bit less and I'll be happy to have more free time.
  4. Are your wkend activities different? Being home every wkend is different. Usually we would drive to our trailer in WA on many wkends but haven't gone at all (the borders were closed and I think we can go now but am choosing not to). We used to socialize more with family/friends but have not done that much. I like being home so I'm ok with how things are but do look forward to the day when its safe to resume our lives and interact more.

  1. Has your routine changed much during COVID? At first, yes. From March to just this week, I was only working part-time. I got a lot of projects done at home that I've been meaning to do, and watched A LOT of Netflix LOL! Now, aside of the mask requirement, we're back to normal. We did have to cancel our trip plans for Nashville, which would have been this weekend :( sad!
  2. Do you stay home more and/or work from home? I am set up to work from home if needed. But my job does require that I am in the office, so I would only work from home if completely necessary.
  3. Go out shopping less? At first, yes. I am not a huge shopper anyway...if I can buy it online I do :) I'd say we're definitely eating at home more now. We still eat out once a week...at first we got "to-go" meals to support our local restaurants. Now that they're back at a reduced capacity we like to get out...but still only once a week.
  4. Are your wkend activities different? We've been socializing with the same small group of friends that we have all along...so we still try to get together once on the weekend. We're trying to filter back in more family that we haven't seen in a while but in small doses. I am definitely still concerned that we'll have another spike...so erring on the side of caution still and being as safe as we can.

We are not so bad where I live here in Australia. We did have big lockdown earlier on but now things have relaxed some.
My routine has changed in that I am not able to do my volunteer work in Aged Care since March. I am so much missing those dearly elderly people as they have become like family to me.

The most negative thing for me personally has been that because I am home more than normal I was keeping busy by baking cakes and biscuits and because they were then readily available ( especially biscuits/cookies) I ate too many and put on 5kgs ( 11 pound). Now my sweet husband encouraged me to go walking with him which he had been wanting to take up again so most days a 5pm we head off for just over half a hour walking around in our neighbourhood which means walking by our local river. I enjoy the walking ( so far lost 1kg - 2pound) and take my camera so am capturing some great nature photos.

That sucks that you had to cancel your trip to Nashville. Hope you get to go another time.

We were going to go away this month but will wait now til probably spring or later.

I'm sure the weight will come off with getting out and walking more. A fun bonus is getting to take photos around your area as you go out walking. I have been dealing with a back injury so can't walk much right now but sure am looking forward to getting back out for my long photo walks, hopefully next month.

Hello!

1. The daily routine of course has changed, because the children are constantly at home. Cleaning was added, you need to sit more with children, explain to them what the teachers explained at school.
2. I had to take a vacation, although it was possible to work remotely. But it is simply impossible to do homework with children and work in parallel. And children are at an age when they themselves cannot do their homework.
3. Shopping trips were reduced to 1 per week. We go on Saturdays, we buy everything we need for a week. Although force majeure happens when something is required urgently and unforeseen.
4. More likely no than yes. The same things at home, only because of the weekly purchase, you need to spend more hours in the kitchen, cook something right away, disassemble something and throw it into the freezer.

Has your routine changed much during COVID?
I retired right when the lockdowns started, so things worked out well for me. I don't go to work any more, but that is not really due to COVID. I craft more, I relax more. I had picked up walking for a while, although that is a little off since I got sick. Life is different, and I am not sure what is COVID and what is retirement.

Do you stay home more and/or work from home?
At the beginning, I definitely worked from home for a bit before retirement. I do stay at home more. I don't go out to Bible Study, Book Club and Church. Those are all done via zoom.

Go out shopping less?
I never go out shopping. My husband does it all. I like that, it was one of my least favourite activities anyway.

Are your wkend activities different?

I am not out and about as much. I like staying home though, so not really a problem.
