Crediting Styles and the Like

How many folks include styles, etc. in your credits. I totally space out on it when I am busy crediting because they are easy to miss. I usually go down my layers at the end and make sure all the kits are included, but you don't 'see' a shadow or a stroke or a style or a pattern in the layers. I would do it as I go, except I change my mind so much that I would never know if my final layout included whatever I had used.

I have oodles of styles as I am a bit of a style-a-holic but do not use them as much as I should. If it is a special style I will list it in the credits.

The only styles I use regularly are shadows. They're by a retired designer from years ago, so I never even think to credit. I do often wonder when I see really excellent shadowing, if it's a style or if the scrapper is just That Good. I'm bad about crediting fonts too. Something to think about...

I don't use styles much other than a shadowing style and I have never credited that style. I do like to note the font that I have used as I often see pages with fonts and wish I knew what font they used. It also helps me if I want to go back and fix a journaling mistake or something like that.

That's a good idea about noting fonts to fix mistakes. I've used the same journaling font for years, but I'll use a fancy font for titles sometimes. It would be helpful to distinguish between my 50 different scripty title fonts.

I NEED to start doing this! I have so many errors in my journaling that I like to play a game I call “find Jenny’s typo”, most likely there’s one on each page. Y’all are going to go look now aren’t you?

If I use a style it’s almost always from the same collection I’m using for my page. With the exception of shadows. I use a few different shadow presets but I almost always adjust them a little or a lot. I’m really all over the place! (Kind of like my journaling!)

I think we are all on the same page so far. There are some lovely styles out there created by the designers and I have only recently started using them. It only occurred to me recently that it might be nice for the designers to have them acknowledged. I am glad I have not been committing a faux pas by neglecting them :)

And as for the fonts - I almost always include the font in my credits. Mostly because I like to know what fonts other people use when I fall in love with a title or journaling. I WISH WISH WISH the designers would list the fonts in with their word art. Some have said they do, but I have NEVER found one. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. What I do like to do it match their word art with some additional word art or customize it with someone's name or something. It really gives a page a polished feel. Sometimes I have to track it back by contacting the designer, or using a font identifying site.

I have issues, haha! And I blame a scrapbook mentor, Mars, who warped me this way. Jill knows her well. She was a 'Marsvelous' scrapper and had a thing about matching fonts. She would store fonts with kits and word art packages. I do the same.
