I remember one from DSP Lynnie...our 007 top secret posts..... BOO!! <-- (Tip: swipe the mouse over the blank space before this sentence)
Not suggesting it gives more pizzaz to a post, but it certainly was fun!

WOAH Jill!! How did you do that? ehehe, I'm such a dork I just want to know how to do that hehe

I love the emoticons I try to put one or two whenever I post :kisses

I do remember that :) We had some lovely traditions there - 007 posts, drive by layouts, leaks...

Well that's neat....how did you do it?

Now I want to know what Drive by LO's and leaks are all about. (I like mysterious and slightly dangerous happenings) :prettyplease:
I think we will wait for Lynnie to come back for the explanation...she can explain things so much better and with more humour than can I. Congrats on mastering the 007 secret messaging:D

Let me tell you about drive by leaks ...... after a 3 hour car ride I decide to go out and rinse the pond filter, bending, garden hose, water--really bad combination..... "the old gray mare's" bladder just ain't like it used to be ft hehe

OK -

Drive By Layouts - we had a forum like our waffling forum called the "Granny Thread" over at Digital Scrapbook Place before it closed. When someone was in a hurry, they would drop a layout in the thread and label it a DBL (Drive By Layouts) because they didn't sit with it and tell you about it and make other comments around it in the thread. We were lovely about commenting on each other's stuff :)

Leaks - well, leaks fall from your eyes --- mostly.

We also never recommended reading the thread while drinking coffee or anything else, because of the risk to the keyboard when you spit it out laughing...

Red threads were another thing. We wrapped each other in red threads in times of need. "Sending red threads" was a sign of love. An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break Old Chinese Proverb.

A lovely story about Red Threads - after son David died, the grannies all sent their flat selves to SSSNoo (who is not actually a granny, but a GIT) who put together a lovely piece of digital art with all the grannies and a read thread. It is framed and I keep it next to a digital photo frame which rotates photos of David.

Oh dear - GITs are Grannies in Training....

And flat grannies are like flat Stanleys. We would dress ourselves up for an event we could not make and they would get printed out so they could "Attend." We actually were close - and there were lots of us all over the world. I went to New Zealand twice for scrapping events and met up with friends in England. I have hosted dozens of grannies in California for visits and met many more at Disneyland. We have also gone to weddings, birthdays and all kinds of other stuff. I'd like to see that happen more here.
