Baby Shower Food

It's been so very long since I went to Baby Shower let alone hosted one. My sister is having her first (and probably only) child in April. My mom and I are hosting in Feb. I'm in charge of the food. My sister has friends that eat Paleo, so I have to incorporate Paleo food in my menu. Any ideas? It's a storybook theme (think blush pink, gold, white with lots of tulle).

So what do you recommend serving? I can either make a few things myself or order from a local grocery or restaurant or a combo. I just have no idea what to serve.

TIA for your ideas!

Are deviled Eggs Paleo? Maybe that would work? You could do a Charcuterie board with a few different sliced meats and cheeses with olives and Almonds on the tray. Fruit trays are always nice as well. And of course you have to have some kinda of dessert even if Paleo people won't eat it. Maybe some Mini Eclairs they seem to be the popular thing right now. Though my husband did make a chocolate Tart that was Paleo I will have to find you the recipe if you are interested.

I don't know about the food, but you can sure find some great shower themes on Pinterest. My friend recently threw a baby shower for her daughter-in-law to be with a fire theme (because the new daddy is a fireman) and we found lots of great scrapping kits to make the shower invitations, the games and labels for the themed food.

I was also going to suggest meat and cheese, although I don't think cheese is Paleo?
I think Salmon is Paleo...that's always popular. Can you use almond flour? I think that counts as Paleo...
Lots of vegetables and fruit.

off topic, but I just went to a Baby Shower in Dec. It was beautiful, the decorations were top notch- a baby girl, frosty theme. Pinks, grays, snowflakes...pretty! We had meat and cheese, sushi (the mom is Japanese) and lots of Filipino food (dad).
and we are going to another baby shower this Sunday. I haven't gone to them in so long and now we had 2 back to back!

How fun is that!! I hosted one for my daughter when she was pregnant with my granddaughter. We did a storybook theme also. I had different children's books around and then the food that went with them. Such as,
If a Mouse had a Cookie - plate of cookies and little cups of milk in ice to keep them cold
Dr. Seuss One Fish Two Fish.... - Swedish fish
Pink Princess something about cupcakes - Pink cupcakes

I can't remember them now but we had a veggie tray with a book that had something to do with vegetables. Fruit tray with a book about pineapples and banana's.

It was a lot of fun and people brought books instead of a card. I made up a little rhyme thing about bringing an old or new book.

Anyway, have so much fun!!

Deviled eggs, BBQs, fresh fruits, nuts and pickled vegetables.
There's a list of foods to eat and avoid here. Might also be useful reference for paleo menu ideas and recipes.
