Are You Inspired?

I love looking thru galleries, IG, pinterest, FB, etc....admiring LOs and getting ideas for page design. Do you?

Sometimes it's design, sometimes it's color combinations or certain elements used....it all gets registered in my brain and comes out later in how I create my own LO. I seldom "scraplift" a page (which is fine to do, I just tend to usually go off in my own direction) but my brain will grab onto a few things that I will think of later and it'll end up on my page in some way.

What about you? Do you get "INSPIRED" by looking at layouts?

Also, not just LOs but online ads, art, magazines....they all contribute to my creative process. I can spend hours browsing thru mixed media/art journal LOs on pinterest and although my pages usually aren't considered mixed media/AJ, some inspiration may have come from looking at them.

It makes my heart happy to browse and get ideas and this is such a bad thread to start today b/c it's supposed to be a full workday for me (not a scrappy day) and now....I just want to scrap a page soooo badly LOL.

So, with a big sigh, I'm going back to work. I can't wait to hear what your thoughts are about this thread, what INSPIRES you!

I just saw this thread and I had to think for a minute. I have not been inspired as of late. Too darn sick to do much other than be in bed sleeping or on my phone.
But, now that I am starting to feel a little bit better, I can't wait to go back a few weeks and see the layouts that have been posted. I do like to browse Pinterest for layout ideas as well as our GS gallery. So many great ideas there.

I feel like sometimes I can get Inspiration Overload. I'll look and look and not make anything. I get inspired by Pinterest, IG, the GS gallery and classes, but looking at pretty product probably inspires me the most. I think being on CT's helps me actually get things MADE instead of just forever looking at whatever everyone else is making. Also challenges, that was the thing that motivated me when I first started scrapping and it still inspires me today. I like having somewhere to start. I have an online scrappy friend who I can talk to for hours about story ideas. I always walk away from our chats with a ton of inspiration. Another paper scrapping friend teaches PL classes, and she is singlehandedly responsible for keeping my interest in that going the past couple of years. I contribute to an online scrappy magazine that features both paper and digi LO's, and those women inspire me endlessly. I just made the switch from Lightroom to the Photos app on my Mac, and looking at my photos in a different way has been SO inspiring (but also frustrating) Having the ability to do "intelligent searching" is just incredible. My husband even said he hasn't seen me this excited about my photos in a long time. Another thing that really inspires me is just going back and looking at my pages. Filling in story gaps, remembering favorite color combos or design ideas, all of that is very inspiring too. Can you see why I get Inspiration Overload?

I get inspired by my pictures - although I have been known to browse the gallery for long periods of time :) But when I get an awesome picture, I want to make a piece of artwork for it :)

Being sick will zap your scrapping mojo for sure. I hope you are on the mend and soon able to enjoy scrapping again. Sending healthy thoughts your way :)

I don't have a MAC but the intelligent searching sounds great. I get inspired looking at my photos too. I try to take at least 2 or more at a time so that I have enough from a moment to do a 1,2 or 3 photo page (rarely do more than 3 photos).

I am usually inspired by layouts in the galleries when I’m in a funk but try more often to be lead by my own creativity. I can usually see a kit and know quickly what I’d like to do with it. I do however love a good scrap lift and have a few I plan to lift soon.

I think I pull inspiration from so many places and so many ways. Many times, my inspiration is my photos and I know what I want to do. Sometimes, I see a kit and it sparks an idea. I do also like to look at others pages, but don't directly use them often to scraplift unless it is a challenge. Speaking of challenges, I think that they are one of my favorite way to jump start my lagging inspiration. I like the way that a challenge pushes me to try something that I normally wouldn't.
