April 2026 Book Choices

Hi everyone! hope you all are doing well! in April we'll have a new format, and we'll have two book options to read, you can choose one of them, or both it's up to you. I've noticed that many times you can't find in your library the book chosen for the month, and I thought that having two books might make it easier for you to choose one, that said, for the month of April, our first reading option will be:
THESE SILENT WOODS by Kimi Cunningham Grant (Goodreads description)
It's a suspense, mystery thriller contemporary fiction book.


and our second reading option will be:
THE GOLDEN SPOON by Jessa Maxwell (Goodreads description)
It's a mystery thriller fiction book.

Both are fiction, mystery thriller books, I've read the first book, so I will read the second one, and I'm planning to reread the first one, it was a good book! We will discuss the books all month long.
Just to recap, we'll be reading books that you all choose through a vote from 11th to 17th, we will follow this outline, for a better organization, and to give a chance to everyone to get the books on time, so sorry that I'm posting the thread late, I had some things to do during the last days.
Please continue suggesting books you'd like us to read together IN THIS THREAD, all genres are welcome, and you can add as many as you like!

The Silent Woods is not free in Kindle; it's free in Kindle Unlimited.

I just ordered the paperback from Abe's Books, as it was much cheaper than Kindle. Hopefully I'll have it by the end of this month.

Gosh, I realized I left a very important part out. I'm not going to read The Silent Woods. I'm going to read The Golden Spoon. That's the book I ordered, and it came in yesterday.

I have purchased These Silent Woods for my kindle and plan on starting to read it once I finish the book I am presently reading.
If anyone wants light reading with a touch of mystery:
You can purchase the books separately. I started with the first - Hey Diddle Diddle the Runaway Riddle and enjoyed it so much bought the full set for my kindle as it worked out cheaper than all separately.

I just finished These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant via my library. That was enjoyable to read, the pace of the story was done well and believable in the story's plot. I enjoyed the characters and their development, especially Cooper's, in light of his PTSD from his war experience. His "in-laws" didn't seem particularly pleasant, but I can see why they behaved the way they did. I was totally surprised by the action of Scotland (and his consequental character development) at the end. I was glad to see how the story wrapped up in a good way for the main characters, although I felt bad about the fate of the aspiring photographer Casey Winters. I wonder how that would have further affected Finch's development (beyond the initial shock), with her being so young.

Now, on to The Golden Spoon next!
