Hi everyone! It's me, Kara! I know I was a part of this forum about 4-5 years ago. I'm starting to get back into scrapping I am 34, I have a 13-year-old son, named Draven. I'm happily married to my soul mate, guardian angel, my hero. My son lives with his father because I have Cystic Fibrosis and back in 2014 I was dying. I was in and out of the hospital so much that there was no way I could care for my son.

So this isn't extremely long lets fast forward to last year. I had spent every single holiday, birthdays, an anniversary you name it, in the hospital. I was finally able to go home. I wasn't home a week and I went into respiratory failure and ended up on life support. I was on the double lung transplant list but, lungs were hard to come by for me because of my height. The doctors were telling my family I was weeks to days away from dying. They were doing all they could to keep me alive. Finally, on March 9, 2017the call came in, a donor was found. March 10, 2017, I had my double lung transplant and am so thankful to my donor family.

sorry so long.

Wow, Kara, you've been through the wringer, haven't you? Holy moly. And *I* thought I'd had a bad 2017 (the beginning of 2018 ain't 100% great, but the end is in sight for me, thankfully). Are you feeling well now?

Welcome back; I'm new here, doing challenges mostly to get my scrapping mojo back after a several year break. Getting there, getting there. :) So nice to meet you!

wow Kara, you sure do have a million reasons to get back to scrapping... amazing story and so happy to read that you got that double lung transplant. Now you can scrap it all.

welcome back, we are VERY happy to see you back here with us

You certainly have a lot to scrap and I am looking forward to seeing more layouts in your gallery. You started with a bang, that was a super layout you posted a few days ago. Hope your health continues to improve. Let us know if you need encouragement! You will get lots of digital, warm, sugary, fresh-baked hugs here!

Wow Kara, good for you, I'm so glad you hung on until that miracle came through for you. About 35 years ago I was one of a large group of volunteer who did manual therapy on a cystic fibrosis patient that lived in the town where I taught. It was a huge commitment but it kept her going until double heart transplants became possible. She had the transplant over 30 years ago and is still going strong. Wishing you the best as you continue to get stronger and looking forward to seeing your layouts in the gallery.
