Yes definitely that's a factor. I love love love the print quality there. I haven't factored paper in yet because I have gobs of it, but I'd probably get it from Costco if I went that route. I'm for sure going to wait until more reviews come out. It's not available until the fall anyway so I might lose my enthusiasm by then.![]()
I'm planning on a printer upgrade at some point, but I'll be going with an HP (it'll be our 4th in 13 years, and not because any of them have died, but because the technology has improved enough to make them smart purchases). They have a new ink program where they send it to you for a monthly fee, based on your useage, similar to a data plan for a phone.
I don't print a lot of photos and I sure don't print layouts but my daughter's starting middle school in a week, and my son 5th grade, and I KNOW we'll be using a lot of ink, hehe
You never print layouts? Is there a reason behind this?
We love getting the printed pages/albums in the mail. It's so exciting! lol
I meant that I don't print them at home, hehe
I haven't had any printed via PP in awhile. Lately, it's because I'd rather spend the money on virtual storage space, rather than on something tangible (which is sad). But, it's easier to find a place for 3tbs of items over a book.![]()
What size do you print? What type of paper do you currently have on hand?
I've tossed around getting an awesome printer and printing my own layouts for years. I never end up doing it though.
Now I do the bound albums and not page protectors. The albums are so much slimmer, so I don't think I'll ever go back to the page protectors and individual printing.
But it's so awesome to have those pages in your hand! No, I totally understand. I think you have to make printing a habit almost, whether it's individual pages or books. Doing that first batch or book if you haven't printed in a long time is always the worst.
I've had LO's in my PP cart since MAY that I need to get printed, so I can't judge anyone, LOL.
I saw the new HP service when I was researching this stuff yesterday and it sounds interesting. We always procrastinate buying ink to the point where all the other colors dry up and we have to start over. (Can you see my pattern of procrastination here?)
Colleen, how do you print? Are you doing yearly or theme albums? I do love how printed books look and they definitely save space, but I actually get a lot of joy from rearranging my pages in my albums. I don't like the commitment of "finishing" an album. But I'm always super interested in how other people work that kind of stuff![]()
I do a 365 album (I've been doing that since 2009).
I also do a yearly book for each kid. It's photos of pretty much just them! Ha I scrap their monthly event photos (trips to the beach, the zoo, holidays, cute photos, photo shoots, and then I do a month in review layout every month too. I haven't printed an album for the kids yet because I am undecided on what to do.
Do I want all the layouts in their yearly albums? Do I want to do a school/sports album and not include those in their yearly albums? Do I want to include vacation layouts in their albums or do a vacation album?
I don't know why I am having such a hard time deciding! I think park of it is that I do the bound books, so it's not cheap to make changes!I also would have to wait until they graduated high school to get the school/sport album printed. I then thought maybe including the pages in their regular yearly albums and then do an additional album for sports/school and vacations. Then I thought that seemed like lots of duplicate layouts being printed. lol
I like the idea of a school/spots album though. Because it would be so quick to see their changes through the years. I just don't know!![]()
