12/08/2015 RQOTD Candy canes?

Since the season is upon us, candy canes, yay or nay? And if yay, what kind? Traditional white and red peppermint or the new wacky flavors that they have now? Hard or soft? I really enjoy soft mints so I love the dofy mint candy canes. The fruit ones throw me off for some reason.
 
I don't mind one traditional candy cane during the season - they're way to sweet for my tastes so I break off small pieces throughout December, or I add them to my hot chocolate.
 
Soft candy canes? Never heard of such a thing!! :36_1_37:

I love root beer and butter rum canes. Brings back memories of the butter rum lifesavers I got every year in my stocking. :)

My kids love the crush soda ones but I only buy one small one. Isis hates anything minty (or as she calls it "toothpaste flavour" lol) so we don't go with anything with mint. Well, except for After Eights. Chris' mom used to have them every Christmas so he gets some to remember her by every year. <3
 
I like Candy canes as long as they are the Cherry flavored ones. The only time i like the Peppermint ones is in a cup of hot chocolate!
 
I stay with peppermint. I could eat them plain, with hot cocoa, those yummy Pepperidge Farms Milano peppermint...

YUM, I'm craving now...
 
I like candy canes, but usually only eat maybe one a year. Just the peppermint ones for me...the others are just odd. Funny, cuz I like the candy sticks in different flavors, but I guess it's just my perception with different flavored candy canes!

We always buy them, but then end up throwing most of them away at about Easter time. hehe
 
Yes - I like the mint ones - if I'm having one at all - the fruit ones - no thanks!

and I definitely agree - in my hot cocoa?!? YES PLEASE!! I might need to buy some for this reason and this reason only! (well maybe that and my kids want them haha!)
 
ALL OF THE CANDY CANES! GIVE THEM TO ME!

Seriously. I <3 candy canes. All of them, no matter the flavor, for the most part.
 
I love the cinnamon best, but also like the traditional peppermint. My kids are crazy about the peppermint ones, and people think they're weird because apparently most kids don't love peppermint? Who'd have thought! Of course, I may change my mind if I ever had a soft mint candy cane... now I'm drooling :)!
 
To eat or to decorate with? To eat - the fruity multi colored ones are my favorite. To decorate? ONLY Red and White traditional candy canes!
 
I love the Bobs sticks to put in my coffee/hot chocolate and let them melt away... yummmmm :)
But the boys love to hang the cherry ones on the tree and stockings to decorate. I bought two boxes of 12 for just that so 24 candy canes... On a whim yesterday I counted them.... We're down to 20! lol And they've only been hanging for 3 days!! By Christmas I bet there will be less then a dozen left out! They think I don't notice they are missing! :D
 
We get both traditional red and white and fruit Candy Canes and add them all as decorations to the tree. Sometime they don't last to Christmas and I have to go buy more :)
