My first job was working at a greeting card store. We also sold gifts and knick knacks. The worst part of the job was having to blow up helium balloon orders. Sometimes I would be scheduled by myself and have to blow up hundreds of helium balloons in the back of the shop while manning the front of the store. I am really surprised that there wasn't more theft. It would have been quite easy.

The little mom and pop general store just down the road from my house. I ran the cash register (back before it told you how much change to give back) and took orders at the lunch counter and served them.

My first paying job was babysitting. I was the oldest girl on our street with many, MANY young kids. I babysat almost every night of the week back then. I made a fortune. New Year's Eve, I would have all the kids at one neighbour's house for the night while all the parents and MY parents went to a party at another neighbour's house. Back then, your friends were your neighbours! LOL.

I would make at least 300 -500 on a New Year's Eve night. I think I had more money then than I do now! LOL

My first outside of the house job was working at Wendy's. I was a shift manager at 19 years old! The general manager was a creeper and I hated him. He was lewd and rude and so very gross. I managed to stay 2 years and then decided to go back to school. While in school, I worked for my Dad at his carpet store as the night hours receptionist.

I spent my teen years being the neighbourhood babysitter/pet sitter etc... My first outside job was for bookkeeping for a small business owned by a lady from my church.

My first job was working in the snack bar at the local swimming pool over the summer. It was hot as heck; but it was so much fun! I got to see my friends, swim for free, and just have a blast. I worked there for 5 Summers from the time I was 14. Great memories!

My first job was at a clothing store. I worked in the fitting room, as a roamer - putting clothes back where they belonged and in the stock room - getting clothes ready to go out on the floor. After that, I worked graveyard in a donut shop. LOL!
My 16 year old told me yesterday that he wants to get a job...that will be interesting!

I babysat a ton, but my first real job was at a coffee shop in a hospital. The owners were family friends and it had been my dad's first job too. I recently found a few old photos of him working there, which is awesome because I don't have any from when I worked there. The place hadn't changed much at all! I was so sad when they tore the hospital down because I thought I'd never have any photos of it.

Other then babysitting when I was a teen, my first real job was as a bagger for HEB (which is our local grocery store chain here in Texas)

My first "real" job was working at Dillards Dept. Store when I was 17. I was one of the janitorial staff, sometimes on weekends they would need help emptying out the trucks with the clothing shipments and I would get paid extra to help with that.

My first job with a telemarketer at 15 1/2. Didn't last long, only a couple of hours, lol. I didn't sell anything and my friend and I were chatting too much. It's a story to tell and a lesson learned, haha!

My first job was in our local grocery store when I was a senior in high school. Then I started dating the owner's son, which made things very awkward.
