I got glasses in grade school. My eyes are so bad, that I can't even see the large letter "E" on the eye chart. I actually had to wear bifocals. Imagine how much fun that was? In high school, I got contacts, and wore those for quite some time. Now it's not worth the hassle and I generally just wear my glasses. At least they are not bifocals anymore. I only wear contacts if we are on vacation and it is someplace sunny. That way I can wear sunglasses. I haven't invested in those transforming glasses because even with insurance, they are too expensive with my prescription. Call me vain, but I do opt for the thinner glass because even with that, my glasses are pretty thick. What about you? Do you need assistance in seeing clearly or do you have 20/20 vision?

I do, but mostly in the evening. During the day I've been wearing contacts.

I wore glasses my entire life until I got Lasik surgery in 2004. Then, due to aging, my old eyes needed "readers". Now my far away vision has slipped a little and I have glasses for driving at night.

Oh Danica, I feel your pain, I wore bifocals in school too! I got contacts when I was sixteen and haven't looked back. I have a spare pair for whenever I need to take my contacts out but I can't wear them in public. They're so thick they make me feel drunk to look through them.

I'm actually aphacic, which means I don't have lenses in my eyes at all, so I wear custom contacts plus reading glasses. I also have glasses to see the TV.

Uggh, yes and no - LOL. I got my first glasses when I was in 6th grade I think. My vision sucks. I started wearing contacts in high school and only wear my glasses if absolutely necessary. (I do take my contacts out every night though). Now I also have to wear cheater glasses for reading and computer work over my contacts.

I have glasses for distance that I mainly use for night driving. I've noticed that I'm having a hard time reading small fonts (like on medicine bottles), so maybe I'm getting to the point where I need reading glasses?

My husband has worn glasses since he was about 12...I can't believe that it took so long for everyone to realize he was nearly blind! He honestly thought that everyone saw the way he did - like lights were just big balls of fuzz. He's been able to get glasses that are a little bit thinner, but because his prescription is so strong, there is only so thing they can make them. He prefers contacts, but still sees better with his glasses.

I have a prescription to get some but my vision isn't really bad enough to warrant me spending the time on getting them. They would be useful for night driving as my vision seems to be the most effected by those silly cars and their new LED lights coming at me. Ugh I hate that!

Yes I do! I didn't get glasses until after I got married, I noticed my senior year while student teaching that I was having a hard time reading the posters in the back of the classroom. So after I got married (3 weeks after I graduated from college) I eventually got glasses. Hubby likes to tease that he didn't "let" me get glasses until after we were married, too afraid if I could see him clearly I would have fun! haha!

So yes, glasses it is. I've tried 10,000 (ok a BIT of an exaggeration!) different Rx for contacts, and they juts cant find one that works with my astigmatism, so glasses I'm stuck with. I have quite a few pairs, thanks to Zenni! ;)
