10/31/2015 RQOTD - What is your favorite holiday?

Since it is Halloween today, I thought I would ask what is your favorite holiday and why? I think my favorite is thanksgiving. It's one of the few holidays my work is closed and I don't have to worry about going in. I can truly enjoy it. It's just my hubby and me (and the kitties) because our families live far away. So we usually make a small turkey breast with the trimmings and have leftovers for about a week. It's just a him and me day and that's nice. What about you?
 
We don't do big celebrations for any holiday really but Christmas is probably my favorite just because I like to find or make unique gifts and watch everyone open them. July 4th is a favorite because I love summer and love hanging out at camp and having a big BBQ and a fun day of water skiing, tubing, swimming, etc. and then taking the boat out for the fireworks at night (plus it IS my birthday too ;) ) LOL
 
There is something I love about every holiday, but Christmas is probably my favorite. I love the baking, the decorating, the shopping, the holiday music, the movies, and all the fun with my husband and kids. It reminds of all the fun times I had as a kid with my late grandparents, too.
 
Thanksgiving for me too. My mom is still the cook and when she decides its not her thing anymore, I suspect my oldest daughter will take over. No presents required. Just family and food.
 
I love Halloween but Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year. I love the spirit, I love that people are friendlier, I love finding that perfect gift to give to someone, I love the family time, I love decorating my house and the tree, and I love the joy on my kids' faces when they open their gifts. :)

I also love that after Christmas, the year is over and we get to start fresh. :)
 
I used to love decorating for holidays, but when we downsized, all of my decorations went into storage and are almost impossible to get to :( The only ones that I was able to keep accessible are Christmas. So, because of that (at least for now) Christmas is my favorite holiday :)
