Since it was a National holiday here in the states, I thought I would ask if any of you hang a flag outside your home. It could be just a decorative flag, or a national flag. We have a tiger flag in honor of Louisiana State University and also hang an American flag.

Yes we do, always up and lit at night. Until last month we also flew the Hong Kong flag in honor of our daughter serving a church mission there for 18 months.

We have a flag, but when we moved to our apartment there was no place to hang it. I really miss putting it out on holidays.

We have a flag for each season that I hang out. I put it away for the Winter, though, because it gets too windy I didn't want it to rip or blow away and have to keep going out in the freezing temps to put it up or take it down.

No. People here don't hang flags on their homes like they do in the states. When I was in Ohio last summer, almost every single house had a flag on their porch or side of the house. I thought it was neat.

Not that we aren't patriotic and don't love our country, it's just not a "thing" here as much as in the states.

We have a USA flag and an Air Force Flag, but our pole broke a few years ago so we don't fly them anymore (plus my brother is no longer in the AF). I did help my uncle install his lit flag pole last year so he can fly a flag now and when theirs got ripped in a storm, I gave them the one we had since it was a better flag anyway.

That is one thing I miss about living in the US.... I love that nearly every house had a flag hanging outside. I find it very rare to see a flag hanging here (besides at a government building). With that said, I do have a Canadian and American flag that I hang out in early July to show my pride of both my countries (If I am living at a location that allows it).

For as long as I've been a home owner, there has been an American Flag hanging on a pole. Except for that one night when a terrible storm blew through and broke the whole thing. I strongly believe that it should be flying everyday, not just on a holiday.

I do at my summer home but not at my school-year home. At my school-year home I have my DHs burial flag in a flag box instead.
