To not make any resolutions, hehehehe!! No just kidding. Lori has inspired me to clean out the crap in my dungeon aka basement, aka dumping ground for the unknown. If it takes me a year, I will throw out some stuff. How about you? Any resolutions? Do you stick with them?

The usual. I need to lose 30 lbs. Try and stop eating Sugar which is something I REALLY need to do! So hard! I go in spurts of being really good at it and then something I eat will have a ton of sugar and then I am addicted again....It's tough!

I try not to make resolutions because I have no follow-through & then I just get mad at myself!
Going into my 50s this year, I NEED to make some changes to make me a better person. But, I am taking "baby steps".
Hubby & I have committed to working on our marriage which is much needed!
I want to start spending quiet time in the mornings before my family gets up. I need to work on getting to know myself better, but I'm not sure what that looks like :P
I've gotten rid of the margarine in our house - only real butter for us from now on. As soon as the Christmas candy is gone, we're going to work on eating less sugar.
So, how's that for not making resolutions?????!! haha! Good luck to me!

Tammy, first let me say that those goal are great! I, too, am working on the no sugar thing. Not easy, but I have to start somewhere. Funny, I was thinking about the quiet time, too. But, I think I am going to get up early and on the days I don't go to the gym use it for quiet time... which I think I will journal. Lastly, I am working on learning to say NO to things that don't serve me because I feel bad if I say no. That's not really working out. So, here is to saying YES to me and my mission/calling in life.

Thanks Suzanne! I love that "saying YES to me and my mission/calling"! That is an awesome goal!

This layout that I did 2 years ago sums up my thoughts about resolutions:

I resolve to find more PEACE! Peace is my word for 2016... Let's see how long that lasts! LOL

Hmmm...I'm not one to do resolutions either. More like reminders:

My reminders for this year are:

Be more present with the kids - less electronics, more face time with real faces.
Laugh more and try to relax more.
Worry less (Unless I have to!)
More positive, less stress.
Bring back date night with DH. We tried last year but it only lasted two months.
Walk at least 20 minutes a day (which I do from the bus stop and back every day.)

Tammy, we only eat real butter too. Have forever. Margarine tastes so plastic to me now. ICK.

I'm 50/50 on the sugar thing. Yes, they say it's bad for you, but my aunts and uncles grew up eating sugar and they are all in their 80's and 90's! My mom is the youngest at 75!!! My next door neighbour in my old city was 96 when he died and he ate sweets/sugar everyday. But ALL IN MODERATION. Bill, my neighbour, was convinced that the way he grew up was best. Eat meat, veggies and stuff that's grown on plants and stay away from "fake foods" He didn't drink milk at all, and he loved his sugar as I said. He was still driving at 95!! LOL...he and his wife (who is still living and is now 92) made a lot of their own food though. Bread, butter etc. they said they lived the way they were taught and not by some science mumbo jumbo. LOL.

I don't know what to believe anymore. First milk was good, now it's bad. Sugar was good, now it's bad. Peanut butter now causes diseases and red meat causes cancer. I know it's chemicals, but if the big companies like Monsanto aren't stopped then we are all doomed I guess

The only "resolution" I made was one to myself. I resolve to get my life in order starting with getting my divorce finalized and beginning to rebuild my self esteem.

Moderation. Live in moderation. Keep life as simple as possible and get healthier. If I am just a few pounds healthier this time next year then I will have been successful.

I like your reminders, Trace! I've been thinking the same thing!

I think moderation is the key, too. I'm SO not a health food nut...haha! I don't really like many veggies to begin with. I think (for my family specifically) we need to work on balance a bit more.
