Journaling:
For the first time, we have a back yard that is designed and developed. We opted for pet-friendly artificial turf and a poured patio to be accessible for Jason’s wheelchair while remaining relatively easy to maintain over the coming years. Three planter boxes give room for gardening without having to stoop too low to get at the plants. I added some hooks from the dollar store and some inexpensive plastic solar lanterns on the fence posts and finally have a real place to hang some floral baskets.
The weather was crazy at the end of June and beginning of July with lots of rain that drowned some of the plants, especially in the deck planters from the front. Some recovered but others did not. The hanging baskets have come back beautifully and my tomatoes and one fennel plant are growing to enormous size. Even though it is hot and dry, the peppers don’t seem to be thriving so I will have to figure out what to change for next year.

Wow, fantastic photos! I like the way they are angled a bit. Great title work and I also like the flower clusters and the background choice.

Wow, your backyard is lovely. We too have seen tomato plants that are enormous this year, and also like you, the peppers are not doing too hot. I like the way that you arranged the pictures on your page, and I love the emphasis on journaling (thanks for sharing it).
