My grandchildren call me “Lucky Nana.” I babysit Bruce and Scarlett four days a week. I come up about 7 on Monday morning and go home between 6 and 7 Monday night. I come back on Wednesday morning and go back home Friday afternoon or evening. Friends have said that is too much! I disagree. I am so lucky to spend that much time with them. I get so many hugs every day, so many cuddles. I am blessed to be a part of forming their character and raising them to survive in a wild and crazy world I get to teach them manners, to be kind to people and to look for the good in the world. I can teach them to love learning and reading and to have compassion for those who need it. I get to have fun with them every day and encourage their imagination. Too much? It is a blessing most people will never have.
