2. choose "inline spoiler," and start typing your text. To me it shows up like a mask icon, but as well can show like an eye with a line through it.

As all of you know, in this thread we can discuss anything about the current book. Please feel free to share your thoughts while you are reading or whenever you want, or as you progress in your reading, it's up to you, this thread is yours, so express all what you think about the book and reading. You can write parts of the text you're reading, and that you think are important to understand the plot, comment on what you think of all what you have reading so far, whether the author is easy or difficult to understand and follow?, how the plot and characters develop to your mind?, and if there's a quote you'd like to share, please do it, for those who read or have read this book, know that the movie has already been released, so if you want to compare the book and the movie and comment on both, feel free to do so.

Once again welcome, I hope several of you will choose to join us!

Read the book and saw the movie and loved them both!
Me too, I read the book last year, and now I've seen the movie four times! without a doubt, it's one of my fave movies so far this year, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Gosling won an award because he practically carries the whole movie on his own, and he did an incredible job, I think it's his best movie yet.

Finally watched the movie on July 3rd (when it came to Amazon Prime for free).
I loved the movie! They did a great job!
I will say that my mom and I had both read the book, my dad had not. He was pretty lost trying to watch the movie. So it might be helpful to read the book first. It's hard to totally judge though because he does have a hard time following a lot of movies, so maybe it was just hard for him, but others wouldn't have any trouble.

Question for those who have read the book and seen the movie, which one did you like more? I usually like books more, although lately I'm not so sure, for example, I read remarkably bright creatures, people we meet on vacation and project Hail Mary, and I must confess that I liked the movies more than the books, I disliked Cameron from remarkably bright creatures' book, but I loved the character in the movie, and with project Hail Mary, I disliked Eva's character in the book so much, although she is historian and I have a predilection with historians, but the Eva in the movie is more human, actually, she has no other alternative, unlike the Eva in the book who could have sent Caceres, but keeps R. Grace prisoner, administering a type of drug that causes him amnesia simply because she decided to, unlike the Eva in the movie, one might even think she flirts with R. Grace; she's not keeping him prisoner, or administering a type of drug that causes amnesia. One thing I appreciated about the movie was that they didn't include the scene where the catheter comes loose when he wakes up from the coma, not even the Eridian burgers, thank goodness I'm a vegetarian, otherwise it would have given me a total aversion to meat, in fact I don't know why the author wrote that, I found it grotesque. Something I think the movie lacked was a bit more emphasis on Rocky's rescue, because his ship was pretty difficult to find and it was out of fuel when Dr. R. Grace found it, I also think it was missing the moment when Rocky tells him that Ryland's sun is free of astrophage.
