What video rabbit holes do you willingly go down?

Lately, I find myself getting sucked into certain types of videos on social media. For me I easily get sucked into Brad Mondo reacting to people dyeing their own hair, any sort of cake or cookie decorating process, and really dirty rugs getting cleaned, or crazy stories read by Charlotte Dobre. Why? I have no idea. I’m sure there is some scientific explanation of why my brain wants to watch these time killers. Please tell me I’m not the only one? LOL!

I find it way too easy to fall down that rabbit hole. Hours can go by as I watch YT videos. Mostly I watch videos related to dogs, photography, food (lately a Mediterranean, mostly plant based WOE), local bird/wildlife info, hair styling (even though my hair is short and not much I can do with it) and skincare product reviews. I often watch a video, then pick another from the recommended sidebar selection and just keep going and going....

I follow quite a few youtubers and always have updated vids to watch. I'm pretty much on YT at least 45 minutes every day.

Thanks, Rae... I'm glad I'm not the only one! LOL!

The other thing that always catches me is when people post strange cookie cutter shapes and they need help identifying what it is. LOL! Love to see some of the very imaginative responses.

Shana, I think we all have a rabbit hole when it comes to the internet. I find music videos are one for me, I have so much saved to my music site and don't even watch them.hehe

Karen, YES!!! So I went down that rabbit hole this weekend and was introduced to a new (to me) Bluegrass band called The Dead South! So that is more of a "broadening of one's musical repertoire" than a rabbit hole. Right? LOL!!!

Darn, you peaked my curiosity Shana, I will have to look them up! LOL

I totally go down rabbit holes too!! Literally everything you mentioned and then some. There is this one guy that cleans up overgrown yards, I love watching those videos, it's funny because it don't like yard work at all, lol I just love seeing him get the overgrown mess all cleaned up. I also love soap cracking videos.
Lately my rabbit hole is embroidery, just watching people do fun embroidery projects, I love it! But that one I actually DO want to do, I used to embroider but haven't in years, I think I will start again :)

I totally go down those rabbit holes too. I like the cake decorating videos, crafting videos, wrapping packages, cute kids (dogs and cats, too).

On YouTube, it is worse. I get lost in

  • Cinematherapy (who doesn't want to watch all their favourite movies psychoanalyze?),
  • Hot Ones (there is some fascination seeing the hottest hot sauce a celebrity can manage!),
  • the Graham Norton Show (he has the best celebrities saying the craziest things; I mean, Benedict Cumberbatch can't say penguins!)
  • Michael McIntyre videos (Americans don't understand English; I was rolling)
  • Michael McIntyre on the Graham Norton Show (did he really talk about Hanky Panky)
  • Binging with Babish (A cooking show where he recreates ridiculous recipes from TV shows, like the Duck Cake from Bluey or the Krabby Patty from Sponge Bob Square Pants)
  • Cunk on Earth (Philomena Cunk asks the silliest questions on purpose)
  • Modern Songs set to Medieval Music (Hildegard von Blingin, Bardcore)
  • Interviews with the casts of shows I like
  • Photoshop tutorials
  • the list actually goes on and on and on and on... I am worse than I thought I was. It took forever to complete this because I wanted to find the proper names of some of the things I enjoy. I couldn't find the show I like at my son's house. He is a guy who checks the math when politicians quote numbers and tells if it is skewed and how. Both sides and he shows the math to tell how it is skewed.

Rescue me from my rabbit hole, thank you very much!!

OMG Lynnie... I've started googling your list of rabbit holes, and I'm laughing hysterically! The Penguin interview was stellar! I need to look up more of these! LOL!!!!

Beware Graham Norton! That is all I have to say :)
And if you get to Hildegard von Blingen, please pay special attention to House of the Rising Sun, if you are familiar with the original and note the medieavalization of the words.

The penguin thing is hilarious! I get hooked into horse or dog videos. Especially rescue based, or funny stuff. Lots of PS tutorials recently. Oh and I watch a very niche one about a girl that rescues whole bee nests lol. She moves them away from places where they are a danger to people. To stop the people killing them. Fascinates me. I will also spend too long on videos about what I am currently doing or learning about. e.g, gardening, cooking, clipping dog's nails, caring for guinea pigs (I have rescue guinea pigs), houseplant care, decorating, music etc

I've been doing a lot of reading on decluttering. I like things put away out of sight. My husband is the opposite, out of sight out of mind. Compromising works but to me certain areas are messy.
