It's been a long time since I've here for more than a few minutes. I've been busy with school starting and busy times at work. Also, have been dealing with some medical issues - hoping that's all over and I can be back at work full time this week. I'm hoping to finish a class this weekend and then have church tomorrow, otherwise, just taking it easy this weekend. Have a good one!

My son who has autism, adhd and odd is hating school, not engaging, and I’ve spent this week trying to source him a better fit. I’m no further ahead than I was Monday when I called into principals office.

On the fun side, my daughters Make a Wish reveal is later today. So excited.

Ah Sherri. I am so sorry. My grandson is 10 and the same as your son. A few years back my daughter decided to pull him out and homeschool him. She couldn't get the school to help him. Since I don't see him but once or twice a year, I can't say he is on track for his age or that he is liking "school" any better but he is a happier person. The homeschooling groups she is involved with have a lot of social opportunities which is so nice. It makes the whole thing less isolating.

I hope you can find something to work for your son. Is it public school by chance?

YOU HAVE MY TOTAL SYMPATHY!!!!! I had custody of my grandson back around 2006. He is on the spectrum also and was a NIGHTMARE in school. Finally, the principal kept him at a table in her office, until it reached a point where they asked me to pull him out of school before they needed to expel him. Fortunately, at that time, my son got custody of him again. I was tearing my hair out. My son "homeschooled" him, although I doubt he got much schooling. He is easier these days, but still a problem.

Let us know about the Make a Wish! We are all excited, although not as much as you, I'm sure.

I am spending the weekend working on my mother's 90th birthday party. I have been sorting pictures of her for weeks. We are doing an English Theme - I'm thinking probably Mary Poppins "Practically Perfect in Every Way!" It is October 20th. We have most of the stuff sorted out for the party. Most of the work is on me though, because I have the best ideas haha!

I am doing a big slide show - and I scrap every slide.

I am doing the story of her life - one book for each table.

Table cloths, napkins, china, tea cups, tea, shepherds' pie, sausage rolls, tea cakes, all kinds of fun stuff. Plus English beer and pop. Photo backdrops and lots of other odds and ends. I am a little stressed though. I am running a teensy bit behind because of the wedding.

Plus I am also working on our Pastor's retirement party slide show.....Due October 21st, one day after my mum!

Goodness, Lynnie, I haven't got the energy to do half of what you do!

Oh heavens, I don't have the energy to do half of what I do...

Fortunately, most of it can be done sitting on my behind with my feet up and a nice cup of tea next to me haha.

I love hearing about all your going-ons and often wonder how you do it all. Now I know. hehe

I've been busy here - and battling some health challenges. But...received good news from my mentor at college - they re-evaluated their transfer credits and 4 of the classes I had coming up will now be transferred in from my associates degree!!! It is doable that I could graduate by the end of next summer!

I'm currently enjoying being without my family for almost 2 days. DD went on a band trip and DH went along to chaperone. At least the band was successful! I went on a little shopping trip yesterday, and today I enjoyed church and a nap. It's n ice to be alone sometimes but I look forward to them coming home. :)

Hello Ladies...
Sherri so sorry to hear about the issues with your son. We had the same issues with my grandson here, and the schools don't seem to care or want to help at all. My son and daughter-in-law pulled him out of school this year, and are homeschooling him, He is doing well with that so far. He has autism and has issues socializing, and has been pick on by so many other kids. It's nice seeing him happier now. So I wish you the best luck and hope things get better for your son.

Lynnie, Slow down girl your making me tired.... LOL Hope your Mother has a good time at her party. Sounds like your going all out so I'm sure she will love it....

KimB hope your health issues are over, no fun being sick. And I hope your able to graduate by the end of the summer, that's awesome...

Ane I totally agree, alone time is nice but your always happy when everyone is home.

I've had a pretty quiet weekend, which was nice, we had men working on the house and going in and out all week, and the dogs going crazy because men were in their territory... LOL so the quiet was sooooo nice. The grandkids also kept me busy, but it was a fun busy. Overall great weekend.
