Any exciting plans or going one for the new year?

I would love to live vicariously through others at this point. We usually have an annual cruise planned but with the new kitty we took in, not really sure we will be able to leave her with our normal travel arrangements. We have a trip planned to Vegas for April, but I am thinking that will be cancelled as well. I haven't voiced that opinion to hubby yet....so anything happening this year? Any moves, goals, vacations? Let's hear it!

2016 has been a big year for us - new home with property, new puppy, new job for me - all of these things add up to uncertain vacation plans for us as well.
Normally, we go to Collins Lake to camp for 5 days in June, Yosemite in July for a week and Disneyland every year. Last year, we had to skip Yosemite and camping, so I am really hoping that we can fit it in.

2016 was a big year for us too - my husband was deployed from December 2015 to June 2016, one of our Sphynx cats Merlin was diagnosed with lymphoma in February 2016, I finished my master's degree in August 2016, and we were posted to a new city in October 2016, with all the fun of selling our old house, buying a new house, moving, and settling in.

As for 2017, I start my new job on January 16th! We have a new Sphynx kitten joining our family in March! I'll be attending the annual Dietitians of Canada conference in June, we'll be running the Canada Army Run in September (they added a 10K race this year, so we're registered for that one), and we are tentatively looking at the Rock'n'Roll Las Vegas half-marathon in November. We've never done a Rock'n'Roll race, and we've never been to Vegas, so that would be a very cool experience.

We're pretty low-key people (it's just my daughter and I). We did our big month-long trip a few summers ago before she started high school and since then we just go to our place on the lake in the summers when we can. We are going to Tybee Island/Savannah, GA for a week in February this year though (Cheyanne couldn't play basketball this year because of her knee surgery so we can actually leave town during her spring break). We're also going on a few weekend trips this spring/summer to visit some colleges here in New England - a trip to Massachusetts, one to Vermont, and then another to New Hampshire.

2016 was busy for us, too! Our big trip to the Philippines last summer, Jordan started driving, and I got a promotion at work.

2017--- I have 2 kids graduating- 8th grade and 12th grade.
We have a mini Disney trip planned with the 8th grade class in June, just for the weekend.
I'm hoping we can swing a trip to Chicago in August
The graduates will start HS and College!! YIKES!!

My 8th Grader is going to Disney as well - are you going with yours as a family? My daughter will just be going with her school and friends on the bus and then back in like 24 hours or something crazy like that.
Wouldn't it be funny if our kids were there at the same time?

We are taking the kids to Spain for Spring Break, using up some frequent flyer miles and I am terrified and excited all at the same time. I do want to lose 10lbs before we go though and that is my goal! I'd like to lose more before then but I am trying to be totally realistic!
