RQOTD: What do you like most about the city/state you live in?

I'm born and raised here in the San Antonio, Texas area.
We actually live on 3 acres just outside the city and I can not imagine living anywhere else. I love it here. My dad was a long haul trucker when I was a kid and I've been all over the US (I've also been into Mexico and Canada), 10 years as an Army Wife took me other places, but as beautiful as our country is, Texas is my home.
Plus, there is no where you can get Mexican food like you can get here... And I can't live without my chips and salsa! ;) lol

I have lived in CA since I was two. I've lived on the same street since I was 4, lol. So I really don't know about anywhere else.
But I do love it here! Similar to Meagan
Super close to hiking hills
45 min to SF
45 min to the beach
3 hours to snow
6 hours to the Mouse

My parents live 2 houses away. My in-laws live in SoCal, about 5 hours away. We are very blessed to have bought a house 16 years ago. If we were just starting out now, there would be absolutely no way we could afford anything around here with our salaries, esp me only working PT. But now with the kids getting older and more expensive, the hubs has been constantly asking when will I start full time?? eek!

Move up north a little Tammy!! I hope you will still be around in Dec. We will go down there after Christmas. Maybe we could meet up with Lisa, too! And I think Deanna lives in So Cal, too...

Oh, Jen! You have no idea!! The boys & I would be there in a heartbeat...Hubby still isn't sure. We've had lots of discussions since our trip and still don't have an answer :(

I've always lived within about 20 miles of where I was born, Em :) We're close to everything here...including family.

I've just always craved a slower pace and less crowded, more rural environment. Plus, financially, CA is becoming a bit oppressive. My boys will be going to college soon, so we're trying to plan for that, too.

I'm sure I'll be here in December! I really hope we can get together!! Lisa is in Thousand Oaks (I think) and Deanna is in the high desert. Maybe we could find a central location and all meet up? I think there are others down in this area, too?
 
I spent my high school years longing to be out of my home town and once I moved away for college and then moved down to South Florida, I longed to return to Melbourne. It took 5 years to move back with detours to Colorado, Alabama and Virginia but we are finally living back in my hometown.

I am an hour away from Orlando so I make good use of my annual pass to Disney. I am 10 minutes from the beach and head there frequently. My mom lives 10 minutes away from us and I am over at her house almost every day. My dad lives about 20 minutes away and 2 blocks from the beach.

I did some time in areas with winter and snow and its totally not for me. As my husband says life is too short to live in a place that has snow.
 
I can't imagine what it's like living in almost the same place for your entire life! As a Canadian army wife, the system forces us to move every so often. I love the variety! The longest I've ever lived in one place was 10 years, from age 8 to 18. Since then, it's been a new place every 3-4 years. We do prefer "smaller" cities - we left Ottawa in 2006 and have no desire to go back, as it has become to large. 100 000 to 150 000 is about the right size city for us, but we don't always have a choice! Hoping to get back to Europe for a NATO posting in 3 years.

I live on the Gold Coast in Australia & I love the beaches here
Always have loved the warmer weather, cold & I are not great friends lol
 
I live in Alberta and think it's a beautiful province. Within a couple hours of where I live I can be in mountains, or desert, or major urban centres or prairies, or forests.

My city has the most fantastic river river valley park system.
